Time will tell how well they draw out comb and accept these but I will say that 'out of the box' experience is pretty good as while I was assembling my frames LOTS of my bees were going nuts crawling all over these foundations 'checking them out' before I could even get them assembled and taken over to the hives. The wax coating on these apparently was VERY interesting to them! One thing of note is that some of my various wood frames have slots down the sides as well as on the top and bottom, and just on those wood frames I had a bit of a problem getting the plastic in as it was the FULL width and the sides of those frames were a bit tight. All my other frames that are only slotted top and bottom the plastic foundation snapped in just fine. If you have trouble with your wood frames being too narrow you could always cut off a tiny bit of one edge of the plastic super easily.

Have purchased this before and am satisfied with the product. No complaint with the product itself, but the packaging left a little to be desired. The tape sealing the box was barely attached. When I took the box from the mailman and stepped back into the house, the box pretty well fell apart. Definitely no need for a knife or anything to open the box. I’m amazed it made it to me without falling apart during shipping. The quality of the packaging was pretty lousy.

I’ve bought these frames for years. Over the last two years or so I’ve ordered these foundations there has been little to zero wax coating. I don’t know if Acorns quality is slipping or if this is an Amazon special dink product… but i’m having to always these myself. I wouldn’t mind coating if they were cheaper and I knew I was going to have to do it.

I bought these with the idea that if I can get my bees to draw one or two our well I can used them to put empty/natural comb frames between so the bees will draw them straight. I was a little concerned as I've got a few plastic frames and some of them are the best brood frames I've got for small cell bees and some are only partially drawn or have patches of comb on them. I melted some of my own wax and used a paint brush to put plenty on. I put a couple of frames into a growing hive and decided to move them a couple hours after and the bees had already began drawing the wax out. I'll be buying more for sure.

Fits good in the 4 styles of frames I own. I felt the wax coating was a little sparse so I added more. Not sure if necessary, just insurance.
