Wow! The Acetyl-L-Carnitine capsules from Double Wood have been amazing for my energy and mental clarity. Before taking ALCAR, I had the kind of crushing constant fatigue where you feel like you could put your head on the desk and fall asleep in the middle of the day. It wasn’t just being a little tired — it was an unrelenting, heavy, foggy feeling that made it difficult to stay focused or productive. Since starting these capsules, that feeling has improved dramatically. I feel much clearer mentally, more productive, and much more present in my day-to-day life (which matters a lot when you have a toddler running around!). What really convinced me this supplement was helping is how quickly I notice if I forget to take it. Within about a day, the heavy, foggy feeling tends to creep back. When I take it consistently, my energy and focus feel much steadier. I’ve also noticed that my overall stamina throughout the day has improved. I can work for longer periods without feeling drained, and even my resting and exercise heart rate have dropped noticeably since adding carnitine to my routine. From my experience, taking it earlier in the day and away from meals and competition from other amino acids seems to work best for me. I notice it more. Another thing I appreciate is that the energy feels very clean and steady. It doesn’t feel jittery like caffeine and it doesn’t interfere with sleep. My experience with ALCAR was very good overall. I started with 500-1000mg when I tried it out and moved up to the max throughout the day. It was very effective at clearing up the brain and providing energy for the first 3 weeks or so and then I stopped noticing the motivation improvement, but it still helped some in that area and with brain fog. Brain fog has been a huge problem for me for years, so any relief is appreciated. Even toward the end, it continued to help with coming down off of Adderall (what caught my attention to try it initially during my hours of research). If you drink a lot of coffee, energy drinks, consume a lot of stimulant substances/supplements/meds, this would probably help you during, but especially after. As I write this, I haven't taken it in a couple weeks and I can really notice a big difference in how well it helped me as the hodgepodge of daily stimulants wore off, even though the UP feeling faded a little as I took it every day throughout the month. If you are using a lot of stimulants, I would highly recommend this! Also, please note the warning about watching the amount you take (or avoiding it outright) if you have hypothyroidism. I think I'll just cut back a little on the quantity, as mine is not severe. Thank you guys for putting out QUALITY at good prices! FYI, L-carnitine bonded to the acetyl group is the only way to go. The plain l-carnitine in energy drinks is basically worthless and NALCAR is probably just another marketing gimmick. Beware of the term higher bioavailability in the world of supplements, this doesn't equate to effectiveness regarding what area of the body (especially the brain) you want it to go to. Early observations

I just started taking this almost a week ago. Here are my observations so far... - I'm not sure about better focus, but might be making me feel a bit calmer - improved bowl movement regularity - biggest noticeable improvement is in much fewer eye floaters. I started using this product about three months ago. I discovered it does give me more energy. I do a number of different jobs and I am finding it definitely helps with my memory on the job. I am 65 and choosing not to slow down so I appreciate the positive effects. I have had problems with feeling foggy headed at times too and it appears to help alleviate it. I feel I have had very positive results with this supplement. I also have an elderly Shit-zu dog with an immune disorder that causes her to sleep all the time. I have recently put her on a diet that helped her but she would still sleep most the day. I started sprinkling a little L-Carnitine on her food and she sleeps much less and even acts playful again. I use it for increased energy conversion during high intensity workouts

I'm a bodybuilder and I wanted a reliable source of authentic Acetyl L-Carnitine which I've found noticeably increases my energy levels (sustainability) in all of my workouts. I don't "feel" any increase or jitters (like in caffeine) but with the product I can go on without tiring, it's pretty amazing. I supplement that with 3 or 4 pills of Inosine <trade secret> and I do not receive the lactic acid muscle burn I would normally get when working out really hard. I've been using L-Carnitine and Inosine for over 30 years, so it's not a placebo effect. I don't use the product for any other reasons/issues. In case you wonder about product brands, as I definitely do, in many years of purchases from DoubleWoods, I have found them to be a reliable source for supplementation and I have never been disappointed with their products efficacy or quality control. Really helps with your memory!

I used to use L-Carnitine when I lived in Australia as a supplement for my weight training. It gave me more energy, and seemed to keep weight off too. I decided to try it once more as I started training again this year, and not only did it seem to give me more energy for the gym, but I find that when I take it, it keeps my memory sharp when I’m at work. I run a coffee shop, and I have an array of different coffee drinks; it can get so confusing remembering everyone’s order. When I take Acetyl L-Carnitine though, it gives me confidence as it keeps my mind clear. I don’t have to keep asking customers what their order is again. I make sure I take it every day! Good Supplement, Bad packaging

I'm taking this for energy & brain health. I feel a difference after taking it, BUT, when the bottle was first opened, the big cotton ball on top of the capsules was stuck to a bunch of the capsules. I had to throw those capsules away. I still find some capsules with cotton fiber attached, and have to pick it off. ... show more
