  • Exactly what was needed
CPU: i9-13900HX / RTX 4080 Style: Notebook
This is not a touch screen. I've not seen a gaming laptop that also had touch screen. I didn't expect a touch screen so we're good on that detail. 32Gig Memory, very good Processors are doing what they are supposed to do. 2T SSD was larger than I needed but it was part of the base build, my previous Nitro from 2019 had a 1T and I came no where near using even half of it. GEForce RTX Video has good refresh, Got to love that! Nice screen size for being considered a mini gaming laptop. I connect it to my Samsung 27 gaming monitor and it is "beautiful" I had 5 years on my last gaming laptop. I expect to get another 5 if not more on this one. ... show more

  • There is a problem with this PC every WEEK
CPU: i9-13900HX / RTX 4080 Style: Notebook
There's just a new problem EVERY WEEK. First every time I close the laptop, it gives me error codes when I open it back up and it makes me hard restart the computer to get back in, EVERY TIME. I lose all my tabs. It defeats the purpose of a mobile PC!... I'm experiencing keyboard lag on screen. I had the drivers updated for the keyboards, too. The built-in webcam sometimes does not want to be acknowledged. I had to call acer tech support twice and was on the phone with them for about a hour each time. Starting up programs take about 10-20 seconds to boot up, its a brand new computer, but its so insanely slow. My internet speeds are 300-400 mbps, but takes a visibly long time to open up chrome. The monitor is very nice, but thats all that is good about it!!! Everything is slowwww, and its BRAND NEW! I'm not even using it for gaming yet. I only been doing emails, AutoCAD rendering. I havent even done 3D modeling or gaming on it yet. ITS TOO LAGGY!!! DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP!!!! I thought this would be a upgrade from my previous laptop. WRONG!!! ITS A DOWNGRADE!!! ... show more

  • Much needed upgrade
CPU: i9-13900HX / RTX 4080 Style: Notebook
Had the Predator Triton 500 and it served me well thru multiple overseas deployments. Unfortunately, the hardware was outdated and needed a massive upgrade, so I got this. This laptop is used to game quite demanding specs and for home use and I've had zero issues with it after 4 months. Would recommend. Only cons I would say is I wish it had more USB ports. ... show more

  • Manufacturer doesn't stand behind their product as return within warranty is not an option
CPU: i9-13900HX / RTX 4080 Style: Notebook
Bought my Predator (Model PH16-71) in June 2024. At the time, it had an excellent configuration with the i9 and the 4090 GPU. I'm an experienced Windows user and I've installed and updated all drivers and security patches and maintained the system as well as I can until September 2024 when it shut itself off in the middle of a League ARAM game and refused to turn back on. TBH my experience with the laptop was good until this happened. Then it went downhill really quickly. The LED blinks a solid blue but nothing turns on. There is no reset pin to do any kind of manual reset on this model the PH16-71, so any online articles are not helpful in that regard. Cannot open it myself because it's still under warranty. The only first aid offered by support was to unplug, hold power for 15 sec, replug and power on...which did nothing. I reached out to Acer Support and the only "option" they offered was to file repair case that takes 5-10 business days. I guess that should be considered a "choice" when facing more than a week of down time for my primary laptop. This left me with a predicament which is to spend even more money (this laptop was not cheap) to get a new laptop with the only option to repair the faulty one...but why would I repair it if I'm getting a new one anyway? In 2024 we should really not be adding to landfill in this manner. I just feel disappointed for me, the support person I had to deal with, and for the Earth in general. Support refused to issue an RMA because "return is not part of the warranty policy". So I urge folks to please read the warranty and based on my experience, please put your money on a brand that will stand behind the quality of their product and invest in a good user experience during the warranty period instead of closing off options. Here's an idea...car dealerships rent loaner cars when in repair, so that would at least help with the downtime and make the repair process more acceptable to folks who rely on their computers every day... Feeling bad I took a chance on this laptop, but I will recover. ... show more

  • A pretty robust gaming laptop but it's heavy
CPU: i9-13900HX / RTX 4080 Style: Notebook
The specs are great for gaming and any other use. My pros and cons. Pros: RTX 4080 GPU Intel i9 13900 14-core CPU 32 GB RAM 2 TB SSD Cons: Heavy - you will not be happy if you haul this beast around all day. Short battery life. It's best plugged in. Runs hot. I recommend a laptop cooler pad. It's not factory-sealed. The seller upgraded the SSD from 1 TB to 2 TB and RAM from 16 GB to 32 GB. So don't be surprised if there are fingerprints on the case. ... show more

CPU: i9-13900HX / RTX 4080 Style: Notebook
Games run beautifully for about 2 hours, after that I start getting micro stutters for some reason in the game, temps are NOT the culprit as they remain the same from beginning to end so it's not a temp issues I have to restart so it goes back to normal again.. Can't recommend at this point...

CPU: i9-13900HX / RTX 4080 Style: Notebook
It's extremely strong, and I had no issue running very intensive programs. But it crashed after some months of normal use, as the hard drive failed.

  • Crashed within 2 weeks. DO NOT BUY
CPU: i9-13900HX / RTX 4080 Style: Notebook
Blue screen of death error message within 2 weeks of opening and use. DO NOT BUY. There is a serious chance your laptop, like mine, for no understandable reason will die. The asurion protection plan is 100% useless, make sure you read carefully it doesn’t insure anything. All of the tech support and return help was opaque at best and intentionally bad to stop returns at worst. ... show more
