  • add more ram and hard drives.
Great PC for the price. Got it as a secondary pc. I added 32 gigs of 3200 mhz ram, installed a second m.2 drive and added 2 sata drives to it for a total of 10TB of storage. (note: you need to have sata cables to add HDD's, but the connectors are on along the edge of the motherboard sticking out the side towards the bottom side of the pc, took me a minute to find them). The wifi card works fine in it but I swapped mine out for the killer wifi card simply because its better and the killer software gives you nice control on wifi settings. I paired it with an ASUS 32 inch wquhd 144 hz monitor. The keyboard it comes with is kinda small, which is good if you have limited space but I prefer a bigger keyboard so I used a different one. ( I have large hands) I did not use the mouse it comes with, I prefer a thumb trackball mouse but the mouse it comes with is functional and works fine. So far it has performed well. Plays games just fine. It's easy to add upgrades to it. If you buy this pc, in the very minimum i recommend adding at least 1 more 8gb strip of ram to it at 3200 mhz for optimal performance. The 8GB it comes with is not enough for gaming, but this pc is a great starter for the money. If you're on a budget and looking for something affordable, this ACER Nitro is great. I might upgrade the video card at a later date but the Geforce it comes with will run every game currently on the market on medium to high settings, older games can be run at max settings. Overall I am happy with it. Edit: I did upgrade the video card to a geforce 3060 card After having for a few weeks. Now I’m happier with it. Upgrades are no problem. ... show more

  • For the cost, well worth it.
Arrived in good order. Booted up without issue. Found my WiFi. Connected like a champ. Updated no issue. Window 11 ready. SSD is the way to go these days. 8 gig memory installed as advertised. Added another stick of Acer 8 gig. 16 gig RAM recognized. Expandable to more if needed. Video card is just fine for those running games. I play Uboat that is a resource hog like no other. Game plays without issue or lag at all. There is a nice feature named Nitrosense preinstalled. The app controls the cooling fans automatically or at a set speed if desired. Playing Uboat that sucks the life out of the CPU and GPU the fans kicked into high for cool running while I played the game. That my friends are a nice feature. And to add, the fans run slowly when heavy gaming is not in use. As a result, it is very quiet as one simply browses or is working emails, etc. Many moons ago my very first computer (in the 90's) was an Acer Emachine E-monster 550. It was a great machine. I'm glad Acer has kept assembling computers. This Nitro appears to be just a great as my old Emachine. I'm very pleased with the purchase. Nice job Acer. ... show more

  • Great, except for proprietary PSU
Pretty decent value, I think, for the price range. I use it for Steam gaming (medium to high settings depending) and CG art. Looks fairly cool with red LEDs on the inside. Haven't upgraded anything except adding a SATA HDD and nvme SSD for more storage. Might add RAM in the future, but has enough for most of my uses. Biggest complaint is the proprietary power supply unit (PSU). Or, more specifically, the proprietary connection to motherboard. Hard to say how reliable it is and no verifiable aftermarket options last I checked. There are two 4-pin connectors labeled ATX2 and ATX3. I can match the first connector, but the second connector uses four rounded pins, which doesn't match anything else I have on hand. I have heard you can find connection adapters for this situation, but might take some electrical knowledge so you don't hook the wrong volts. Also the PSU seems to make a ticking sound when not running... I recommend using a surge protector and backing up your files regularly. I'll attach photos of the motherboard model number (DIB56L Roadster) and connector in question. The PSU itself seems standard-sized. ... show more
