This is actually a great buy for me. I got it delivered to me here in the Philippines thru a forwarder. It was a risky buy but it was all worth it. It is very much cheaper than the ones sold here locally. I got it at $450 and I used my $80 amazon gift card to further cut down the price. For all I know, bnew nitro 5 with ryzen 2500u and rx560x is sold for around $800 here in PH. Well, lucky for me, the unit I got is working great. The wifi works perfectly. The only bad thing I observed with it is the very minor scratches, but barely noticeable. all in all, it's good. I tried playing Just Cause 4 and GTAV with it. All running great in 1080p, Very High settings for JC4, and High for GTAV. I'm probably gonna upgrade this with an SSD and additional ram to be a full blown gaming laptop. All in all, very great buy! The product is great, just that the ability of changing what is used, the RX 560 not being able to be taken over fully and used is not an option, but it’s a great product. As long as you are buying a SATA m.2 or a ssd in general it would be amazing, I recommend a Kingston a400. Another thing to add is that the screen is only 60hz and is very laggy sometimes in games and has a solid 60 FPS and feels like 30 for some reason and if I tried idling for games, the screen had a burnt in like look of the application. I only had the application opened for 10 minutes to get food. (Might be because I recalibrated the display to SLIGHTLY be a bit brighter) I didn’t know at the time that a 7200 rpm hard drive was HORRIBLY slow. I’ve only used a 7200 rpm hard drive with 32gb of intel optane, and that was my friends desktop. Overall great product, as long as you’re okay with very slow boot times, slow generally clicking on anything, or if you intend to add a ssd afterward. ... show more

    • Charger disconnects WiFi
I just got this computer earlier today and, while I haven’t yet fully explored all there is on the computer or have had time to thoroughly test for issues, I’m sad to say I’ve had one from the first boot. The problem is similar to another reviewers concern except the opposite. Whenever I put the charger cord in, it refuses to connect to my WiFi and no amount of troubleshooting, resetting and problem solving has been enough to solve the issue. When I unplug it however it works perfectly fine. I’d truly appreciate it if anyone knows a solution to this problem. I need to have this up and running as properly as possible ASAP Since I’ll be staring online classes soon. ... show more

The laptop was just as it was shown, a quick and easy to use laptop that I can use for bigger performances and games. I originally bought this game to run high specs games that couldn't run on my normal laptop and it has good fps for the amount of GB it has. Arrived faster than estimated delivery time. My only complaint is the color of the overall laptop and the keys that light up. They do tend to irritate my eyes just a little after looking at it for a certain time especially with the bright red.     • HEY! DON'T BUY THIS, unless you plan on also purchasing WARRANTY.
The Acer nitro 5 seemed too good to be true. Good specs for what I use it for (Casual gaming, music production, streaming etc) at a very reasonable price point for someone who is a student like myself. It has run almost perfectly with no issues up until today. I open my laptop this morning and the bottom right of the screen case SPLITS open, exposing loose wires (connected to the monitor) that appear to have been pinched inside the hinge for the screen. This is extremely upsetting because I make it a point to take exceedingly good care of my electronics (again I'm a student.. I can't afford to not take proper care of my laptop). To have it break in such a way LESS than a year after purchase make me question the efficacy of the so-called "renewed" Acer nitro 5. I made the huuuge mistake of not purchasing the 2-year warranty. And It is very clear that these laptops are NOT made to last. Now I'm a broke student with a broke laptop, and no way of returning it through amazons return policy (Big surprise). If I can spare anyone the headache of paying $600 for a laptop that lasts less than a year than my work here will be done. Don't waste your time here, find a laptop that doesn't require warranty to become viable. ... show more

Este equipo lo está utilizando mi hijo para jugar y para el colegio. Es un buen producto con un buen rendimiento. La compré hace varios meses y venía con 8GB de RAM, pero recientemente le compré un modulo adicional de 8GB para mejorar su capacidad de juego. Creo una mejoría sería cambiar el disco duro ya que es en donde se genera cuellos de botella en algunos juegos. En resumen, un equipo de buen rendimiento para personas que no quieren gastar mucho y quieren un rendimiento aceptable para juegos. Un punto a considerar y que me ha dado algunos problemas, es que es mejor no actualizar los drivers del equipo de forma automática (Windows Update) ya que los dispositivos instalados en el equipo requieren versiones específicas para que funcionen correctamente, y cuando se actualizan automáticamente dejan de funcionar como se esperaría. ... show more

I bought this laptop mainly for school but to be able to play games when I get bored. It runs most of them perfectly (some need to be lowered to medium/low graphics but that’s not a big deal for me).
