I've been wanting a laptop for several years and with the advent of doing everything online (such as this review :) filling out forms etc. I grew frustrated doing them on my phone and my tablet. I purchased this laptop after shopping and comparing prices and review, The price was right. The reviews were mixed. I didn't need a gaming computer (big bucks) however there were a few key things that need to be pointed out. 1) NO KEY BOARD LIGHT! I haven't typed on a keyboard in many years therefor until I have more practice I " hunt and peck" If there is no overhead light I have to pull the screen down to shed light on the keyboard to look for special characters. It's very frustrating. I like to crawl into bed and do my laptop chores/fun but with my hubby sleeping the overhead light isn't an option. 2) There are quite a few apps that aren't available for my device :/ like Amazon for example. I bought this dadgumed thing ON AMAZON! My banking app...there' more I just can't think of them. So you have to go to the web and look up the website and sign in. When I saw "Chromebook" I thought great! I've been using "Chrome" on my smartphone for ten years, no brainer. 3) as mentioned by other reviewers the screen has to be at the right angle to get the clarity and brightness it's capable of. I feel that the constant moving of the screen will result in failure. Maybe not, we'll see. I'm disappointed with my purchase :( a bit more research and money would have been well spent. ... show more

The screen is very directional and loses color and clarity when viewed at even a small angle. Update: this also has another problem. Bluetooth streaming to my wife's hearing aid stopped and all the audio controls locked - none of them worked. The computer had to be rebooted to unlock it.     • I purchased one of these at WalMart.
The media could not be loaded. There's a small learning curve, but everything is running smoothly. It starts up quickly. It is really thin in profile. Accepts a wireless mouse. I didn't get much documentation with mine, but it's a Chromebook, so there isn't much need. I'm satisfied with my purchase.
