The Revo Toro reels are musky and pike reels, but they work great for saltwater as well (assuming you take care to wash them off after use). They can be used for Striper, catfish, snapper, or any larger or more powerful fish. These will also work for bass if you are fishing large trout swimbaits. I have the S, Rocket, and Beast. Bad: I ordered 2 of these reels, 4:9 ratio... drag star wouldn't tighten completely on either one. Fished all day, lost a nice muskie because of drag malfunction. Both reels were bad, returned for refund and excited to fish with Tranx 400 instead.i feel Abu Garcia has gone downhill with cheap production. NOT worth the money. This reel was pretty much as expected. The bearings are a little louder than I would have thought, but being a 2 year old model, this didn't surprise me. A little oil and grease and it works great. Bearing noise is still there, but with the bigger reels that is expected. Highly recommend for musky fishing. ... show more

Bought the fast retrieve model-6.2/1. Loaded it up with 80 lb. test braided line. Mounted it on a Bass Pro 7-1/2' med. heavy musky rod Tied on a 1/2 combination wrench as a practice plug and went out in the back yard to practice. After adjusting the casting control a bit I was casting well over 150'. Got out the 100' tape just to see how close my judgement was. I was casting 165'. I ordered another one used for $212. That's half what Cabelas wants for one. Only thing I don't love about this reel is that the line guide doesn't slide back and forth across the front of the reel during the cast and causes a bit of friction which I feel reduces the distance of the cast a bit. For this reason, I give it 4 stars instead of 5. Other wise, very smooth cast and retrieve. Love the fast retrieve for burning bucktails. ... show more
