So I need to preface this with the fact I ordered from 602ABC Water based on a friends recommendation and after some research. I hoped to replace an older Culligan softener system without the Culligan price. Though I ordered this in December 2017, I didn't actually install it until May 2018 due to rehabbing my home after the Harvey flood. I recall this system worked for half a day where we got some very soft water and then it stopped. I first called in June 2018 for help and have been in constant (every 2-4 weeks) communication with them trying to resolve my issue which is my water NEVER reads below 4-5grains of hardness. They told me they shoot for less than 1. My input water is reading 12 grains so it did work to some level but NOT AS ADVERTISED. I've even gotten as far as purchasing a water test kit (exactly) as they use in their facility so I can take out any differences in test methods. No good. My problem now is they've stopped answering my calls! My last call was about 2 months ago in March 2019 where I had the Operations Manager named Brian give me his technical number and he guaranteed me that he would solve my problem. Ever since then (and probably 100 calls later), they've stopped answering my calls or returning my voice messages from both their customer service number as well as their technical support number. OK, so they actually did reply to one of my text messages (no calls) and agreed to Facetime with me to look into my setup. I took some time off work to be sure to try to be at home at the time we agreed. No call from them nor any other follow up to my inquiries! I feel like I've been lied to and sent to the curb for trash pickup because there won't be any repercussions! I'll update later with any new information to help anyone else. ... show more

I installed this softener about 6 weeks ago to replace a Kenmore softener that had aged out. I made my own bypass valve to reduce the pressure/flow drop even though a bypass valve does come with the softener. The Fleck control valve is great and comes pre-programmed for the majority of the settings. Our water is extremely hard (80 grains) and this softener has provided us with soft water once again. Shipping was timely and all parts arrived in good condition. Highly recommend. The only complaint is that the kit comes with everything except an inexpensive piece of drain tubing which seems a bit odd. ... show more

    • Lots of Iron in my water
I have a lot of iron in my water. I bought this one because it said it was for iron removal. The only plus side of this one is it regenerates after so many gallons. my old one was just every few days so this one is a little easier on the salt. Its a big softener and gets the job done. I thought it would do better on the rust. I have to put Iron out in every time I put salt in along with the rurst removal salt. Same as my 1990s watersoftener. Working well no problems. As a first time home buyer I knew absolutely nothing about water softeners. But doing some serious research I settled on this awesome machine. My wife and I live in a large old farm house with really hard water, so I wanted to get one that could keep up with the hardness. I've had this thing since June and I've only, other than the initial fill-up, put in 2 maybe 3 bags to refill it. I also installed a pre micron filter before and a carbon filter after this softener. Came resin pre installed and controller preprogrammed. The two toughest parts pre-done. Used a plumber to install but if you have a softner loop reinstalled easy fit. Only thing is the quick fitting gave up the first time spraying water everywhere. The plummer fixed it but i think the fitting could be better. Otherwise has been operational for 6 months wotks like a charm and at least $600 less with installation compared to any other quotes I got. ... show more

Received the water softener from ups. The box was mangled but the unit was fine. The unit shipped with the resin in the tank so install was fairly easy. The manufacturer left out the drain fitting from the fleck valve to the drain line. I picked one up at home depot for 62 cents. I never asked for a replacement as I wanted to install as quickly as possible. So far working great. Added a star. After 7 days unit working flawlessly. Performed water test and no iron or hardness. Only had to reprogram fleck valve brine backfill time from 12 min to 6 min. Too much water in brine tank. Great unit! ... show more

    • Perfect IronSoft Plus Replacement!!
We previously had an IronSoft Plus water softener (for 9 years in the Florida sun), but encountered some issues after attempting to replace the media which resulted in the upper control apparatus to leak and pressure build up to unseat it spraying water everywhere. We ordered the Fleck 5600sxt since it is very similar to the IronSoft Plus, and we found that the majority of the parts are the exact same. So, we were able to use our existing connections to our PVC pipes including the bypass valves (even though we were advised not to). This allowed the installation for us to be roughly 1.5 hours and we now have replacement parts in case we have any issues with the bypass valve or threaded PVC connector. Instructions with the softener are a little difficult to work with, but they do provide an installation video which makes it much easier. My only complaint is that this does not come with a drain line, so you will need to buy one separately if you do not have one that you can use. Prior to installation, we were at a 12 gpg/200 ppm hardness with our water; after installation we are now at 0 gpg/0 ppm. Quick shipping, received in about 1 week. I love FLECK equipment, easy to install and very easy to service, repair kits available everywhere. Installed a main line 10 micron filter before the softener, my water is crystal clear now, well water is very high iron content, staining everything it touches, not any more, thank you "ABC" for a good deal and your "how to videos" .
