Great quality canopy. Very easy initial setup. I happened to have some extra sand, and the bags held up to the weight perfectly. Tear down was slightly more difficult, but I think that’s due to my own inexperience. Returning the folded metal structure to the carry bag was a cinch, but I couldn’t figure out how to fold the canopy material tight enough to go in there as well. Wish it was a few inches taller on the sides so that I didn’t have to duck my head to walk in and out (I’m 5’11”). Seems to be a tremendous value.

I got this tent in November 2022 and put it up over our backyard patio so my husband could grill and and not get rained on. I originally thought we'd put the tent away for the summer when the rainy season was over. Well, that never happened. The tent's been out there this entire time. As of the writing of this review, December 2024, it's been standing out in the elements for over two years, in sun, rain, snow, hail, sleet, and our famous Seattle area annual windstorms, the latest of which killed two people, damaged countless properties public and private, took out our power for three days and cell service for 1.5 days, and... didn't budge this tent one bit. The tent canopy suffered a 4" L shaped slash from, I'm guessing, impact from a falling branch being blown into it, but otherwise is none the worse for wear. There are places of tension where the canopy is starting to tear just this winter. I'm guessing the canopy is starting to degrade after being through two snow seasons, two summers, immunerable days of rain (Pacific Northwest) and counting the most recent one, three windstorms. It's not even staked down but just freestanding on our concrete patio. I do shake the snow off of the canopy when it accumulates because that can get really heavy and possibly collapse the tent. I am really hoping the maker sells replacement canopies so that I can replace the canopy next summer!

We first ordered this shade tent in August 2019. I would have given it 5 stars. Very nice quality tent and fasteners, sturdy frame, and even the carry bag was great as it completely unzipped and had backpack handles as well as sturdy wheels to roll. We used the shade tent almost daily during summer months as we live by a lake. We accidentally left it up during an unexpected wind storm and it blew over, breaking the frame and tearing the tent. So I didn’t even think twice about ordering a second one because the first one was so nice. Immediately upon unboxing, we could see that the quality was very, very low compared to our first. The bag is cheap and only unzips at one narrow end which will make bagging it up very difficult. The frame is flimsier and the buttons to adjust the height are cheap plastic that I don’t have much faith in lasting. Then the tent is different fabric/nylon and the Velcro attachments are all small, and of much lesser quality than what we had before from this same company. The straps that attach the tent to the poles is just elastic with Velcro, while the old one was nylon strapping with slide adjusters. Elastic will not hold up in the sun. We are probably going to keep it to finish out the summer so our kids can use our beach area, but I will be very surprised if this one lasts much past that. I’m very disappointed.

First night camping and of course it rained. Very easy setup and we placed it over the picnic table to play some board games while it rained. However, it started leaking at the four corners of the vent and down the seams. I have just reached out to the seller and abccanopy for support. I will update the review on how the support goes. Update 9/14: The seller and abccanopy were very responsive which I greatly appreciate. They did offer to replace the top and/or partial refund. They did point out that this is a sun shade and not a commercial grade canopy that prevents rain from seeping through. However, the description is very misleading: "WINDPROOF, WATERPROOF, UPF50+:300 Denier Polyester with PU lining,100% Waterproof and 50+UV protection". Buyer beware. As a sun shade canopy, it is easy to setup and performs as a sun shade as expected. If you want rain protection, look for a commercial grade canopy that has sealed seems. Upgraded to 4 stars as the seller and abccanopy were very responsive.

This canopy is A+ impressive. We've had it for two years now and it stays up in our backyard during the entire summer (in South Carolina). Our neighbors liked our idea so they set up their own canopy, but it was a different brand and collapsed in the wind within a week. The only time we've taken ours down is for the winter and once during a hurricane scare. Storms, winds, you name it - nothing is taking this thing down (when staked down). We don't even have the guy lines staked down, just the poles. After two years in the baking sun, it's probably about time to replace the canopy itself (the frame is still perfect), as it's gotten a little brittle, but we're going to wait until the end of the summer to do so. Also, pro tip when moving it with just two people - lower it to the lowest height and carry it by lifting the cross beams rather than awkwardly moving it leg by leg. Edit: almost three years in and we're about to buy a new canopy. The current one became so brittle it started ripping. The frame is still perfect, but unfortunately they don't sell replacement canopies for this model that I can find. That's still the only downside! If we didn't leave it up for about 8 months out of the year, I'm sure it would have lasted way longer.
