  • Canopy is 13 x 13 from edge to edge, not the measurement between the poles
This is our second canopy tent. This one is priced only slightly higher than the other one we have, but is nicer as far as functionality - the other canopy has no netting or roof overhang. Since I was already familiar with putting up a canopy tent, putting this one up by myself was a breeze and only took about 2 minutes - without the netting. It took longer to wrestle it out of the box and bag. (I don't really foresee it ever going back in the bag, but I'll update this review if that turns out to be possible.) As the title of this review suggests - the actual canopy has about a foot of overhang all the way around the edge and the actual legs of the canopy are just a little over 10 feet per side. We use these outside to get out of the sun in the summer since we live in an area where the summer heat feels like it is only about 10 degrees less than the surface of the sun. We have it up close to the house so it not only provides some shade in an otherwise shadeless back yard, but the shade the canopy provides extends into our house, so that helps with cooling costs the tiniest little bit. Our misting system will help too when the time comes. To "tie" the legs down, I use a 5 gallon gas can on each leg that is filled with slightly wet sand with a few teaspoons of bleach added. The cans are strapped to the legs with hook and loop straps and tied to the canopy framework at the top of the pole with a rope. This is only a solution for fairly light wind and the weights are only there in case we get wind gusts during the night. We collapse the canopy whenever the gusts get over about 30 mph. It would probably take a little more wind than that for the canopy to get airborne, but we're not taking the chance. Each leg of the tent is adjustable, so if you are on uneven terrain and need one leg shorter or longer, that's doable. Overall, this canopy is a good value and I would recommend it for backyards. NOTE - It probably doesn't meet the requirements for a lot of swap meets, so you should check out their individual rules before schlepping one of these all the way down to the parking lot only to find out the swap meet you are selling at doesn't allow a canopy with so much roof overhang. The very thing that makes it great for the backyard makes it harder to use an a swap meet or farmer's market. I'm going to guess there's about 2 years of life in the actual canopy material in our area. If you live in a VERY sunny and hot area like we do, the more it's out in the kind of sun that just sucks the life out of you, the shorter the life span. If your temps don't exceed 70-75 deg F, you might even get 5 years out of the canopy with the proper care - like cleaning it and storing it inside in a dry area for the winter months. The frame itself is on the more heavy duty side. Much better than the canopies in the $80-$100 range. ... show more

  • The King of Canopies!
Size: 13x13 Color: Royal Blue
As a fine artist, I deal with tents a lot for my summer art shows. Showing artists have a saying: "easy up - easy down" which refers to the instability of the easy-up style tents and their tendency to fly away if a storm comes along. But easy-ups are popular because they are inexpensive, lightweight, and can be erected in about 15 minutes. Compare that with my professional tent (a TrimLine) that cost me around $2k, requires six bags just to carry all the components, and weighs a few hundred pounds in total. It takes me two hours to set up and over an hour to tear down ... but it will withstand anything short of a hurricane. So, selecting the right tent for your needs is vital. Now, when I decided to set up some summer shelter for hosting backyard parties, I had no interest in using my beast of a show tent, so I started looking at easy-ups. I wanted one that was easy to set up but also robust enough to withstand the occasional inclement weather so I could leave it up for long periods. I found that and many other features in THIS ABCCanopy pop-up gazebo. There is SO much that I like about this product. The frame is quite strong for an easy-up and I'm confident that, once I deploy weights (sandbags and sand-filled PVC tubing) along with staking it to the ground, it will be sufficiently wind-resistant. This canopy features a double-roof (which allows wind to move through for circulation, yes, but also as a pressure release when a strong wind comes along). It also has mesh walls so you can keep the bugs out without compromising circulation and light. I also appreciate the overhang/awning (something my TrimLine doesn't even have) that pushes any rain away from the tent instead of dripping down the sides - it also throws a larger footprint if shade on sunny days. All this, and it can still be put up by one person in a pinch (though I would recommend 2-3 if you really want to get it up quickly). Overall, this is a fantastic product - and at $220 at the time of this review, it's a great value for all that you are getting. I would never dream of using this at a show, but for the backyard, it's perfect! ... show more

  • Great Canopy - ABCCANOPY 13x13 Pop Up Gazebo, Outdoor Canopy Tent, Instant Screened Shelter
Size: 13x13 Color: Dark Gray
The "ABCCANOPY 13x13 Pop Up Gazebo, Outdoor Canopy Tent, Instant Screened Shelter with Mosquito Netting" is a great canopy. I have had a 10x10 pop up canopy for many years and wanted to upgrade to not only something a little bit bigger, but I wanted something that had some screens on it as well. The ANCCANOPY looked it it would work for what I wanted and it does. It is amazing how much of a difference 3 more feed wider and longer makes. It is very nice and really is a great size and it is so nice to be able to have it totally enclosed with the screens. The metal frame and legs seem pretty sturdy, maybe even a bit stronger than some other canopies. With that strength and additional size, it makes the canopy heavier than the awnings that most people are used to. Also with the additional size, you need to make sure that it is secured, as you have just deployed a giant sail and it will fly away if you are not careful. With my old 10x10 awning I was able to set it up by myself, it was a little difficult, but manageable. With this one, the size and weight makes it so I need some additional help to get it set up. This is the only thing that I don't like, but this is a personal thing and does not speak to the quality of the product. Overall, this is a great canopy and I like it a lot. ... show more
