We live in a very windy place so we were looking for something just like this with the collapsible or removable top. We have gone through a few of these already and even though the others also had removable tops they would bend and break in the strong winds. There was a strong wind just the other day and I thought for sure this would be broken like all the others but it seems that this one stands apart from the others. When building it you have to make sure to watch out and have the slider bar support line up, I didn’t do this the first time and it caused me to have to rebuild 80% of the frame. All in all I am very happy with the build quality, packaging and instructions, it will for sure need someone to help you build it because of the size of some of the parts. I would also suggest having a 10mm socket to help save some time with assembly. ... show more

The box was amazing. Super sturdy, no damage to the product, well sealed. The metal had a good quality powder paint. Not show room, outside metal. The metal was a good gauge (thicknes). Every hole lined up with a little jigling. They left you of plenty of slotting area to everything would line up. No real words to tell you how to do it really. But the pictures were spot on. Every part had a sticker. The box is heavy. I opened it and carried pieces at a time to the pool deck. I had the parts left over. after loosing 2 bolts and damaging 1 bolt. They gave you extra hardware likely for that reason. I might replace them later with stainless steal bolts. No tools are needed for assembly. I used only the supplied "tool." I could have probably have finshed 30 minutes or more faster if I got a ratched and socket or a nut driver and socket for my drill. I did use a drill because I bolted mine to the deck. I don't want issues in hurricane season. First picture finished with no rope for shade blind. 2nd with it open. 3rd extra parts. 4th was usng ropes and the rails to hold things in place. I did it BY MYSELF so I had to get creative. 3 hours and 10 minutes. I will turn it counter clockwise 90 degrese later. I had to install in in that orientation because I used ropes and what now and did it by myself. with two or three people it will go up easy in the direction you want in probably an hour and 1/2. Without spending way much more muney as in like about $1000 this 10x10 was the way to go. I ordered one from Lowe's and they never shipped it in 3 weeks. Ordered this one and had it in 3 days really less than if you count hours. Hope it helps :D ... show more

We purchased this Pergola 3 months ago to cover our small pool deck from the shade. Its Working out perfectly. My husband and 2 of his buddies took almost an entire Saturday to put it together. it was not easy. but the finished product is beautiful. it’s sturdy, has a high-end look and feel to it. holding up very well to the elements. The finish is gorgeous. it’s just what I had expected from the photographs. We have had lots of rain and wind this past month and no issues whatsoever. My neighbors have complemented it many times. it retracts effortlessly so that if we would like some sun to hit us on the deck we can have it. I also like to retract it when we are expecting heavy rains just to protect the fabric. Overall extremely happy with this purchase. totally worth the price! ... show more

Because the succulent conservatory top is leaky so decided to buy a retractable pergola cover,it does what it's supposed to do is keep the rain away from you ,in summer you can also move to where you want,which is very good,it's easy to install but requires two people to do,the designs of the canopy it is simpler,easiest to replace in the end ,it like part .and the quality is also good.because I am afraid of the wind in winter,I put sandbags on four corners and it is extra strong. ... show more

I brought this for my yard to become more appealing. It did the job, and I am surprised how good it is. The steel is very steady after putting them together. It is well worth the money I paid. The set up is easy, it only takes a little time to figure out and to out them together. The other feature that I like is the adjustable shade. So I can manage the amount of sunlight I needed. LOL. My wife and I assembled this with very little difficulty. I agree the directions could be improved. You need to study the pictures to install - several times! But everything assembled well. Looks and function…impressive!
