I had a previous Atoto model, an A6 double-din car receiver, so I was interested to see what new features I could enjoy three years later. The Atoto A5L arrived a couple of weeks ago and I quickly installed it in my Ford Transit van. I put it in the back to use as a media player, but it does so much more. It mounts in a double din spot where I had housed a Pioneer AVH 4400NEX receiver. The nice thing about the Atoto, beyond the fact that it is a quarter the price of my older Pioneer unit, is that it fit right in but has a much bigger screen. You might want to check to be sure you have an extra two inches in each direction where you wish to mount yours. The Atoto was very easy to wire in. It has a GPS receiver that picked up a dozen satellites with the included windshield antenna even from the back of the van. It has a lot of familiar Android apps and also has playstore to install more. Once I set my smartphone Bluetooth to search for the link, it immediately linked up and Android Auto started up. The phone worked fine, and all my other usual apps. I did notice that the head unit to phone app ZLINK5 seemed to disconnect any wifi connection. I installed ZLINK6 and also unclicked background connection, and it works best now. My picture shows the unclick under settings once you open ZLINK. The 10" screen was much easier to navigate and activate, which is a real plus. On a small screen, my Torque app was sometimes hard to read, but this big screen made setting up and watching gauges much easier. The Atoto comes with a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle so vehicle details and engine codes come up easily. For a big screen car receiver to include a vehicle scanner makes the $150 price tag even more of a bargain. Another nice feature is the rearview camera. I connected it to see how it works. I already had an aftermarket camera by my rear hitch, so connection was a breeze. I set up the reverse wire to have a large screen for backup, but it also has an app that allows you to view the rearview camera even without backing up. That is very convenient at times. My pioneer required me to install a switch that simulates the reverse signal, but this device does it internally. I'm sure I will discover more features as I play with it some more, but it's an incredible value already.

The media could not be loaded. The Atoto A5L Android stereo is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a large, affordable head unit that offers both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. As a repeat Atoto customer, I found the installation to be fairly straightforward, although there were a few minor snags. The most challenging part of the process was figuring out the mounting. The instructions didn't make it clear that I needed to remove the installation frame from the stereo before attaching the mounting brackets. It seems obvious in hindsight, but it was a head-scratcher at the time. Also, the supplied brackets didn't fit my 2013 Sentra, so I had to reuse the ones from my factory stereo. If you still have your original stereo, I recommend holding onto those brackets, just in case. The good news is that Atoto and many third parties have helpful installation videos on YouTube that fill in the gaps. One Atoto video that helped me is entitled: "Installation Guide for A5 (Lite) Series Android Car Stereo 9/10inch Double DlN Head Unit" Once it was in, I was really impressed with how the stereo looked. The 10.1-inch screen is huge, sleek, and gives the car a modern feel. It was a relief to see that my backup camera and speakers worked perfectly with the new unit. The audio quality is solid for music and podcasts. The stereo handles the core functions flawlessly—my backup camera, streaming audio from my phone, and hands-free calls and texts all work reliably. While I ran into a few minor issues, like the home Wi-Fi disconnecting and a struggle to get a separate wireless remote to connect, these are small problems that don't affect my main uses. Atoto's customer service is very responsive, so I'm confident I can resolve any lingering issues. Overall, if you're looking for a dependable, affordable stereo with a massive screen that delivers on the essential features, the Atoto A5L is a great buy. I'm excited to continue using it and exploring its features.

I already have an older model Atoto radio in my Chevrolet express work van and I have always loved it but it doesn't support wireless android auto so I thought I would give this new one a try. I really love the functionality and the large screen using my maps via android auto. The screen is pretty reflective. I only have 2 door speakers and the sound is really good especially for this price point. It fit really nice without blocking any of my vents or dash knobs. I ordered the steering wheel control for my old radio and it worked flawlessly. This model requires a different model steering wheel control but it is very glitch even after programming the buttons. This is the only issue I've found. Overall, I really like this unit.

30 years in the car stereo biz & along with another pro installer for marine audio, and we wanted to SMASH & BREAK this evil piece of junk!!!! It was extremely easy to install and sounded ok. HOWEVER, it has the worst platform I’ve ever seen- NOT user friendly with soooo many features, & so overly complicated to do minor tasks, like getting the hdmi to work, switching to video input, and it has POP-UPS!!! UGGG!!! 32 band equalizer?? Why??? After going through 9 prompts to try to get features to work, a pop up comes for CarPlay, etc that forces you to start over again!!! Its maddening!!!! It’s so hard to use this thing that it isn’t worth it. It made him angry and he cussed and went home. I have a lot more patience than he does, and so I tried with the manual for about 25 more minutes to get it to do the things I wanted it to do and then I got angry as well. *It was easier for me to order a different stereo, uninstall this one, and install the new one that it would’ve been to just try to make this thing work. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!
