Description
Ruth Bontrager is a young Amish woman who has been baptized into her community. She loves the idea of finding a man to spend the rest of her life with. However, with her job at the boarding house, she’s not sure where she’ll find that man. Especially as the holidays fall closer, which are always the busiest part of the year at the boarding house. Lionel Jacobson is frustrated with life. He’s been struggling to keep his car alive, and when it finally breaks down almost six hours away from home for the holidays, he feels as though the universe has stacked against him. It forces him to seek shelter in a small Amish community, where he feels he sticks out like a sore thumb. When Ruth sees Lionel, though, sparks immediately fly. But he’s an Englischer. Lionel wants nothing more than to go home for the holidays but quickly realizes it may not happen.
