I’m a second-year college student and just recently bought my first car, a 2010 Honda CRV with very few safety features. I decided to buy the Krunia Car Play Screen with the backup camera to help with navigation and backing out of parking spots. So far, it has worked very well. It connects to my phone automatically when I start the car, and the UI is very simple and intuitive. The only issue I’ve had is with trying to play music and use the navigation audio at the same time. When music is playing, the navigation audio is extremely quiet and virtually impossible to hear. I tried adjusting the volume settings in different apps like Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc, to no avail. So unfortunately I have to decide between listening to music or enjoying the benefit of being audibly alerted of an upcoming turn while I drive. I haven’t installed the backup camera yet; I still need to watch some YouTube videos to figure out how to do it. But from what I can tell, the camera quality seems good.

Installation was fairly easy, I made it harder by routing the wires behind panels to make it look more integrated and less messy. I also created a small shelf, that is permanently attached to the dash to hold securely where I wanted it. The installation was about 1 hour (not counting the hour it took to make the custom aluminum shelf) including the rear camera with only a minor knowledge of vehicle wiring. Finding the positive reverse light bulb wire was easy, as was connecting it. You tube your car and you'll probably find a related video. FYI, You might need a splicing connector, or soldering tools, but I had connectors on hand. The camera wire was just long enough going along the upper trim to each the location of the display, like maybe 1/2 inch of play. This was on an older Honda Odyssey, so use that for reference. If installing on a longer vehicle, or if you want to run it along the lower trim, you will need an extension for the camera cable. The backup camera is a little fish eyed, and super close-up. It works well and it's clear, even at night, but the viewing angle could be wider and it would be much better. The function of the Apple Car play and Android Auto are great...maps, Spotify, etc work well with almost no hesitation. I did try the aux cord and noticed the bass was lacking, as some other reviews noticed, but using the FM radio is flawless. Just Google "vacant channels on FM dial" and you'll find a list in your area. If you travel much to consistent locations I would look for 1 that's good in both locations. We found one that worked well for a month or so in Chicago, then we drove to NW Indiana, all static in Gary area, but clear again in Valpo. Then I found one what was good for Chicago and Gary, and no problems since. The speakerphone is meh! It works, but you'll need to talk loudly for them to hear you, you can hear them great. We use it for short chats, but we are people who always have earbuds on hand and use those for longer or important calls even in the car. Overall I'm planning on putting one of these in 2 other older cars, but I'm not in a hurry and I'll wait until they go on sale. Buy it, you won't regret it.

My car is a modern, advanced EV with lots of great tech. It runs on Android Automotive, but the manufacturer (GM) does not enable CarPlay. After a year of trying to live with it, I really had just had it. Every rental car I got had CarPlay, and I realized how much I really miss it, so I decided to look into these add-ons. Putting in one of these devices has literally and completely changed my feeling about the car. SO nice to have CarPlay back! Overall, I'm pretty happy so far. The unit is a good size - big enough without being a problem with how much space it takes up. The screen looks good and the unit boots up fast. There is a bit more separation between the surface plastic and the underlying screen, which can feel a bit odd if you're used to the direct way most cell phones or car screens are, but it works ok. Perhaps slightly less responsive or just giving the sense of it since there's a little separation (it's a bit hard to explain, but once you use a screen with more of a gap, you get what I mean). It's not a problem at all. I had another unit from another brand that was a little slower to boot up and connect, but didn't have this gap in the screen, and I'd take faster booting time over the screen gap being smaller any day. That unit also sometimes would need to have the power pulled because it was frozen/unresponsive/wouldn't start CarPlay. So far, this unit has been flawless, so I'm happy. For the price, I think this is great. So many of these units have extras I'm not interested in and don't want to pay for, like a dash cam. Really appreciate that this is a simpler choice.
