I may be more particular about blade sharpness than most, but I was annoyed at having to sharpen these blades before using them. They would have cut the grass, I suppose, but it wouldn't have been pretty.

Used these on my Gravely Z34, basically same as Ariens. They lift better than the stock type blades as evidenced by the cut on fine grass and the dirt layer on me when I get done. Cuts the "fine hair" grass and shreds the fall long stem weedy things good, seldom needing a second pass at 2 1/2" cutting height. We have about 18,000 sq/ft of yard plus an alley, so not having to make double passes in areas cuts down the time required. There are some pretty decent weed junk in the alley and these cut it without any motor bog. Will be getting a second set and plan to swap blades every time I pull the deck to clean it. Fall 24 update - makes shredding leaves easy. The Chinese Pistach is dumping leaves and these blades just suck them up and mulch them nicely. ... show more

This was my first time to replace the blades on my Ariens mower, and I was not certain that these "after market" blades were totally compatible. However, they fit perfectly, and my lawn looks neat. I will buy these again.
