It's hard to find a OXA QCTP for a small Taig-based lathe. This one fits great, though you'll have to do a little drilling so you can run T-Nut screws down into the cross-slide. But the mounting plate is soft steel, so any drill press ought to be able to handle it. I suppose you could use a hand drill too, since it's not a precision hole. Wedge type tool posts are MUCH stronger and sturdier than the piston type that is commonly found on this size lathe. Recommended! ... show more

This is one of many import options for this type of tool post. Most are significantly cheaper than the original brand name . I picked this one because it offered 2 additional tool holders at a reasonable cost. The post and holders appear well machined. Each holder fit well and locked securely. Be aware, depending on your lathe, that installation may be more than simple plug and play. In my case I had to do three things. 1. Add a riser block to bring the height adjustment within range for the tools I use. 2. Machine a bushing to reduce the diameter of the mounting hole to match the existing T nut and stud size on my lathe. This is mentioned on the description page. 3. Substitute longer set screws in holders for some smaller tool bits (e.g. 1/4 or less). ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Had the correct post size for the Vevor 7x16 mini lathe and had 6 tool holders. Fit: The tool holders would not fit on clamping post so I had to file down the clamping wedge to allow the holders to slide on. It functioned properly after the modification.
