One of the nicest auger bit sets I've ever owned. The bits are incredibly sharp and after a fair amount of use show no signs of wear or dulling. Holes are clean with almost no tear out most likely due to the sharpness of the bit. Bits are stored in a very nice roll-up pouch that keeps them safely apart while in storage. So far, the bits have performed very well, produced clean holes, and remain as sharp as new. Easily a 5 star product.

I used these in a impact driver and a cordless drill to drill holes in southern yellow pine and poplar and some plastic. All the holes from the smallest to the largest drilled easily and cleanly despite the sharpening looking a little rough on the smallest drill sizes. Shavings were ejected very well in all the sizes. In my Makita impact driver the ring grooves on the shank for the 1/4 inch shank quick release were too far up so I ground approximately 1/8" off of the end of the hexagon shank on all of them to make it to hold the drill bits. They did work as is in an imported quick release chuck I have with no markings. These are decent quality and very well packaged and decently to very well sharpened.

This set of auger drill bits is perfect for helping me finish a long to-do list of diy projects. I have already tried them out on several of my projects, and they are ready to get those holes made. They work well on treated lumber, untreated lumber, new wood, old wood, old wood that's been outside in the elements for years, drywall, and plaster so far. The most important thing to note is that with every single project I have used these drill bits on, the holes have always been perfectly shaped and clean at the entry edge - so nice! Attached to this review is a photo for reference as they also come with a carrying case (please pardon the "dust" in my photo as I had already started using the bits before I thought about taking the pic).

For boring, I have a lot of spade bits but few in this style, so I thought to grab the set. My usage will be infrequent, and not something that demands top quality. The price is relatively low and the set seems good enough. I test a few different sizes and found everything to function as expected. The description has a line that says "1045 high Carbon Steel" which is good to know, but it also explains why this set is priced this way. This steel is tough but doesn't really get that hard. Wear resistance and edge retention are also lower than the more expensive steels used in higher tier tools. For me, with my occasional usage, I'm not really concerned about this. If I cared, I'd look for something made with a high-speed steel instead, although not all HSS is that great either.

Decent auger bit set for the price. I drilled a few half inch holes through a 2 x 3 and the bit had no problem cutting through it. I will recommend that you use a slower speed to keep the bit from heating up. The packaging is pretty nice, I plan to keep the plastic sleeves and the little tip covers on the set to make them easier to store in the little canvas rollup pouch. The length is very good because sometimes my normal bits just aren't long enough. They are also quarter inch hex shaft which is very convenient if you are changing out bits and you have an adapter in your drill. Not sure how long they'll stay sharp, they don't seem as if they are something you could use frequently but for as often as I'll use them they will probably last a while.

The media could not be loaded. These bit seem sharp, but they are not actually ground very clean, as they had a jagged feeling edge that hooks my skin when I touch it, so I am not sure how well ground they are. I feel they are durable enough for small around the house projects, and depending on the softness of the material being drilled, could last a long time. The screw tip helps pull the auger in straight, which helps drill plumb holes. I tested a bit by drilling into a scrap of Douglas Fir , and it cut a clean plumb hole, so I can say they work well enough. I really like the included roll up storage pouch. Made of 1045 high carbon steel, which is an entry hardness tool steel, they are probably not suitable for a woodworking purist, but they are find for the weekend warrior, and a good value for the money.

These are good, boring bits. Perfect for construction. Bits are sharp and fit 1/4” inch hex shank however the ends are too long and do not snap in. So the bits will fall out when pulling up. Can really only use with a drill with a chuck.
