At first I thought this was a pretty good boat winch, but after that only 8 times using it, it will no longer stay tight. The gearing is stripped out and won’t hold in place. This is a really nice new winch that has both of the forward and backward ratcheting locks. The only thing you should really know and why it isn't 5 stars, because it doesn't come with any mounting hardware. UPDATE: after using it a bit, the paw that ratchets the line in and out is pretty annoying sometimes since it can get jammed if you spin it the wrong way. ... show more
