Description

The SU-100 was a Soviet SPG commissioned in 1944. The genesis of this model involved the need to strengthen self-propelled artillery at the end of the war. The newly constructed D10 - 100 mm cannon was mounted on the slightly modified hull of the popular SU-85. In the period 1944-46, about 4,500 units of this vehicle were produced. The SPG was very popular, serving in dozens of armies around the world. Several countries still keep the SU-100 on standby. The SU-100 SPG model is entirely designed with COBI building blocks. The inclusion of many awesome pad prints has enabled the vehicle to be faithfully reproduced. The set does not contain stickers at all, only prints! And the prints do not scratch or smear even during heavy use. The model is equipped with efficient crawler traction, a movable gun and openable hatch. Under the service flap there is a detailed motor. The set includes blocks with Soviet and Polish markings to choose from, another innovative and fun feature COBI brings to the set. The set is complemented by a figure of a soldier with a Mauser rifle, a cap and a red banner. The easy-to-read manual contains a list of blocks and statistics that you can use in the free COBI Historical Battle Game. I sent this as a fun activity for my son who is a helicopter mechanic. I am not close by so I can’t say in my opinion how it looks from every angle and went together but here is his summary: - Easy directions - The occassional piece took some effort to snap into place - took me about 6.5 hours. - pretty accurate given the scale tbh As a Veteran and a lover of chinooks and Lego-type builds, I took a chance on this purchase because it was realistic looking and my son likes to put stuff together. I’m actually happy I took the chance! It looks pretty accurate and I like that the blades look like the blades and aren’t rectangular pieces! I’d like to see what other products this company makes and if they make something else that is something he or any other kid likes, I will purchase them. Overall, very happy! ... show more

I have always loved the Chinook helicopter. When I was in the military, I was blessed to catch several rides in the helicopter and do sling loading, so it was a no brainer for me to get this set. Negatives - Poor instruction layout. The instructions can be confusing. If you’re struggling to understand them, I recommend downloading the PDF version from their website; it helps immensely. -Minifigures. It’s no secret that COBI’s minifigures leave so mush to be desired. For this set, you only get the head, helmet, arms, and torso. The good news is that they fit nicely in the cockpit, so it’s not too noticeable. However, if you want pilots outside the helicopter, I suggest purchasing better-looking mininfigures. -Missing piece. Unfortunately, I’m missing one noticeable piece located at the back of the ramp. While I usually have surplus of pieces to cover such gaps, in this case, I didn’t, so the set feels incomplete. Positives -Accuracy. This set is impressively accurate and feels very realistic. I appreciate that you don’t see stud all over the place, which is something I commend COBI for all their sets. -Sturdy build. This model is solid and feels well-constructed. You can pick it up, and it’s almost a playable set. -No Stickers! All pieces are printed, which I absolutely love. Overall, despite my emotional attachments, this is a nice set. A word of caution: the instructions are not like LEGO instructions. Once you get past that hurdle, building the set is quite enjoyable. I recommend this set to anyone who is a military aviation enthusiast. ... show more

Honest review. This Chinook is by far one of the best if not THE best I’ve seen on Amazon or other apps. If you’re looking for an accurate Chinook for your collection without breaking the bank, this is the one. Very similar to brickmania style. The brickmania ones are for sale on eBay for around $750, upon inspection these are very similar, this one only being slightly smaller. In my opinion, this is just as cool as the brickmania ones. Very sturdy construction, pieces don’t break off and they hold very tightly together. My only gripe about this Chinook are the little dudes it comes with, they are cheap and don’t look good. They’re not even full figures, it’s only the top half that snaps on inside the cockpit. Other than that, super sick Chinook. Get this while you still can. ... show more

Love the sleek way these kits look. All parts were present. Everything went together tightly. Fun build and very accurately detailed. Lots of small parts and i mean small. So be careful. But it is very enjoyable.

    • Cobi sets are great; but seller repeatedly sends boxes that are heavily damaged
Set is fine; but box is a mess - couldn't give it as a gift. This is the third cobi set I have ordered from amazon and each has come in bad condition. Exterior shipping box is fine; but cobi boxes are trashed - one had a huge hole puncture in it, the next was torn open and heavily damaged sides, this one has a hole, badly dented box - all boxes have looked like they have been crushed and destroyed. So great set; but if you want to give it as a gift or care about the condition of the box - order from someone else. ... show more
