This compact device works amazingly well. I’m buying more as Christmas gifts for the men in my family

  • Great Buy for the Money!

I have book looking for a good scope that I can take longer-range photographs with using my iPhone 13 Pro. Specifically, I like to take long exposures of the night sky capturing detail of the Milky Way and other celestial bodies. The iPhone has that capability of taking up to 30 second exposures which bring out amazing colors in space that you can not see with the naked eye. However, to do this, you have to have a steady tripod or it will not allow the exposure. With this scope, I am able to set up my phone both to get a closer image and a steady, long exposure to gather the light needed to produce amazing color photographs of space. I love this scope and would recommend it for general viewing AND photography! The phone mount is steady and does not drop or move once set. The scope is clear and crisp and does not have chromatic aberration problems that I have found in other scopes I have owned. I keep this scope with me so I can be sure to capture photos when I see something I like! ... show more

  • Awesome Amateur Starter
*: black-v
Purchased this monocular, along with a light weight camera tripod, to put together a little/basic mobile telescope and spotter kit for my kids. This monocular is light weight and comfortable to hold. It also has a standard 1/4 female screw mount that will work with most camera tripods. The little tripod it comes with also has a handy smart phone mount. 80 X 100 will not provide the best smart phone images, but it is a good all around starter to identify the needs/range/wants for the user. Clear/Sharp and easy to adjust to any visual range on the go via convenient focus wheel/ring locations. Wrist strap is not the best, especially if it is being taken on and off constantly....like kids will do lol. I suggest some basic 550lbs Type 3 Paracord instead. The only actual negative I truly have is that the lens covers are a bit floppy and may not stay as attached as one would hope while being carried. However, to avoid any issues with the covers, this monocular is light enough that it can easy be carried in a MOLY pouch, cargo pocket, day pack, on a neck strap etc. Overall: A- ... show more

  • The Good is Good; The Bad Is Horrid!
*: black-v
THE GOOD: This monocular looks and feels well-built and sturdy. I was concerned how difficult it would be to turn the focus wheel with one finger, but I found it surprisingly easy and smooth. The unit came with a fairly nice pouch to store it in and nice lens caps for both ends. It also came with a small tripod. That's where the good ends! THE BAD: This product's optic are absolutely terrible! It was extremely difficult to focus, even on a street sign no more than 30-40 yards away. The problem is, I turn the focus wheel to focus, and it gets close, then even the slightest nudge and it's out of focus in the opposite 'direction'. It's next to impossible to make fine focus adjustments, but even when I finally managed to get it fairly sharp, it was only sharp in the center of the view. The image got more and more blurry moving away from the center, to the point at which, at the edges is was completely useless. I was unable to obtain acceptably useful focus on objects farther away; the farther I tried to look, the worse it was. In short, this is a woefully poor-quality product. You'd have a better experience with a paper towel tube with pieces of glass taped to the ends! Yes, it really was that bad. Add to that the fact that the tripod had a bent leg (slightly bent to be fair, but bent still), I found the purchase to be completely without value at all. "Garbage' is a word that comes to mind. I didn't attempt to use it at night, seeing no point since it's so bad in daylight. If it weren't for the fact that I wanted a refund, I'd have simply chucked it into the river or tried to boot it back to whatever assembly line it limped off of! Quality control seems non-existent based on my experience with this product. I strongly recommend you avoid this product for the reasons above, and I find most of the reviews of it, at best, questionable. This was the first time I have ever purchased anything from Amazon where the product itself made me angry I had bought it! Pass! ... show more

  • Game Changer for my family's activities

My boys are in competition archery. This monocular has impressive distance vision. We can clearly see shots and keep track of scoring while sitting in the stands. Even better, we can take pictures of each target capturing perfect rounds because of the phone clip attachment. This is just fantastic. We are also hunters and this is a handy tool for lining up shots, checking the terrain, and filling our freezer. Because of its compact size It is easy to carry and stow in your bag. I paired it with a compact tripod and am looking forward to capturing some amazing shots of football in the fall. This is a fabulous tool for both the sports parent and the outdoorsman. We love that when we set it up with our cell phone it provides a screen so that everyone around us can see. Do not hesitate to buy this. You will get so much enjoyment out of it and amazing pictures. ... show more

  • Perfect size to bring everywhere
*: black-v
This is a very useful monocular if you want something that you can bring to all occasions. It's very small and can fit in your pocket, bag or on your belt with the provided case. It does provide a great deal of magnification for the price but given that it is a monocular with a rather small objective lens, your field of view will be very small, especially compared to binoculars. But, that is something I expected when purchasing this product. I've used plenty of binoculars, monoculars, scopes and telescopes, but I was looking for something I can just have with me everywhere I go and be useful. This happened to be the perfect product because it has plenty of magnification and is small enough to sit in my car's glovebox for quick access. I've used is for hiking, orienteering, bird watching, animal watching, photography, at the range, and even as a telescope. Understand the limitations of this product before buying it but if you just want a handy monocular that you can bring anywhere, this is a great choice. ... show more
