This monocular is better built with higher quality parts than others I have tried, and it is compact and light enough that I can take it with me when out for a walk, hike, or even fishing. The lenses offer a clear view of the subject (and I wear trifocal glasses!), and I have used the monocular at night to identify local wildlife and view the stars. I have only taken a couple of photos using it, so I am uncomfortable rating the picture quality any higher than average at this point, but I think if I get more accustomed to using it with my cell phone, I might rate the picture quality higher in the future. A must-buy for the casual star or bird watcher and outdoor enthusiast - maybe even varmint hunter, though I haven't used it to spot prey yet. ... show more

I like the rubber coating. It provides a more durable design that won't bend or scratch when thrown in a backpack. I’ve purchased a few versions of these types of scopes, and this one is great. Others are difficult to line up the sight with the camera lens, but this one is easy. However, now that mobile phones have three camera lenses, it can be more difficult. ... show more
