I purchased an 8,000 BTU portable air conditioner for my bedroom. The installation was straightforward; however, I needed a separate window covering to fit my windows and chose to connect a hose (not included with the unit) to the outside, which the manual suggests as an option. Although the fan is somewhat noisy, it is not marketed as a quiet unit and can be adjusted to low or high. I appreciate the convenience of the remote control, which allows me to adjust modes and turn the unit on and off easily. This unit does not have a sleep mode. Just three modes - air conditioner, fan, and dehumidifier. The temperature of the unit can be adjusted within a range of 59 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit. You also have the option to set a timer, allowing the unit to operate at specific times and automatically shut off at your desired time. The airflow is strong and cool, and the adjustable vent lets me direct the air without it blowing directly on me. Unlike some other types of air conditioners, this unit does not constantly expel water. Instead, it features a hidden condensing water recycling system that partially recycles water between the condenser and the water plate until it reaches full capacity. If you don’t have a hose connected, you will need to empty the water from the unit manually, and the amount of buildup will vary depending on usage. Overall, this 3-in-1 unit offers great functionality and value and can be used anywhere you have an outlet and can fit in your space.

Portable Air Conditioner, 8,000 BTUs - I have included a few pictures to justify my opinions... The ac unit itself seems to be just fine... runs well, cools adequately, the timer and thermostat turn on and off as expected.... so overall this unit is fine for its price point ( I am comparing it to a much larger and pricier unit I also own from another brand) The "not so good" = as you see in the pictures the remote has icons that are not easy to see unless it is in direct lighting, it doesn't light up or have words so be prepared to click the wrong button. The hoses are thin and the edges are rough cuts.... again, I understand cheaper units use cheaper plastics etc... but be prepared to worry about the hose pulling out when you move it due to the thinner quality etc... but once it is set up it seems fine (I haven't moved it since) The last point I will make goes for most of these types of units, the window insert never seems to be long enough to fill all the way across the window without adding a piece of cardboard as an extension etc... and why don't they add a foam/rubber edge so that the window seals against it without leaving these gaps due to the plastic sitting against the window frame? Overall for the price it seems to be a decent freestanding AC unit for the budget minded.... I haven't had any issues with it cooling or running etc. so I am still giving it 4 out of 5.

This portable AC punches above its weight. I’ve been using it primarily as a dehumidifier in the basement, but I also tested the cooling mode, and it blows cold air fast. Setup was simple with the included window kit, and I really like that it works with a smart plug—it powers back on in the same mode after being switched off remotely, which most appliances won’t do. The timer feature and quiet operation make it ideal for overnight use. Only downside: like others mentioned, the window insert pieces aren’t quite flush, but it's manageable. Overall, solid value for cooling or drying smaller rooms.

I'm using this in the basement to dehumidify and it's working out just fine. I like that I can hook it up to the window and use it as a typical AC if needed, but really, it stays pretty cool down there. I turned on the AC part and it blows nice and cold. Everything is included in the box, including batteries for the remote. I like the timer feature too. I have found that I can actually use it on a smart plug while it's in any mode and it will start right up in THAT same mode, etc. That is awesome!!! A lot of electronics won't start up unless you physically turn them on again. That function for me is priceless.

this thing saved me during a recent heat wave. cooled down my room in like 15 mins flat. not too noisy either, which is huge for sleeping. the dehumidifier mode was a bonus i didn’t know i needed—no more sticky air. setup took like 10 mins with the window kit and remote works from across the room. feels like a luxury but it’s totally worth it. It actually seems to work better and faster than a unit I have that cost twice as much so I am very impressed.

Very easy setup and clear instructions. I do like the fact that the AC has wheels and makes it easy to move. I wish the window trim was better and the two pieces were the same size. This will help with having the window close more flush. First couple of night the AC worked great, First 2 nights I ran it on a timer at 10 hours with both high and low speeds at 68. No issues and you can hear it when the AC kicks on to cool the room then resets to fan mode. On the thrid night I ran it without a timer and just ran no issues all night. On the fourth night however, with no timer set again, the AC would just stop blowing air all together. Temperature was still set to 68. I would have to get the remote and turn the AC off then back on again. Had to do this multiple times throughout the night. So then I put the timer on and it ran rest of the night without issues. Not sure what the issues were. I have the drain line hooked up so no issues there. Also I didn't see anything in the manual states that it will turn off completely or go into indle mode if the air temp has reached the set temperature. Moving forward I will just use the timer function to make sure it stays on all night.
