I use this for cutting out neck holes for tunics and when I need to draw perfect circles for different projects. I am sticking the tack (included) through my wool ironing mat so I need to keep a hand on it while tracing out the circle. This is a personal preference and the product itself is amazing. It is made of very thick plastic with holes big enough to stick a pencil or pen tip though to draw out the circles at marked intervals by spinning the circle. My review was originally wrong on details. The product comes with a protective film on it. But the film is so precisely cut that it's not obvious it's a film. Product is exactly as described.

Is this item horrid? No. Could it be so much better for the price? Yes. On light items (most wood) the lines are difficult to see. It would improve the product immensely had they darkened in the recessed areas to allow better visibility while using. I use it occasionally, however is easier to find the center using other methods in most cases. It may be what you need. It is far from what I was expecting and not as easy as other methods. ... show more

    • Works BUT FRAGILE!
I have been using this to center logs of all sorts for my Lathe projects and it's been working great up until I tapped the center pin a tad too hard and the acrylic cracked. It's still functional and I switched to using a small nail instead to avoid further damage but a simple Grommet would have protected the Acrylic from cracking, it's a shame, such a good product otherwise ... show more
