These heat erasable pens with refills are a great price. My only issue was lack of instructions as to which end to insert the cartridge into. It does not work from top insertion. I did try out the fabric heat erasable pens on fabric. It leaves a nice fine line. It erased when I ironed over it. Very nice product with many refills & a reasonable price.

I’ve been using heat erasable pens for fabric for a while now, and I have to say, I’m genuinely impressed. The ink glides smoothly onto fabric, making it simple to draw precise lines or write notes without any smudging. One of the best features is how the ink disappears with heat. A quick pass with an iron, or even a blow from a hairdryer, and the marks vanish completely—no trace left behind. This makes them perfect for temporary markings that need to be erased quickly once you’re done with the design. The ink shows up clearly on most fabrics, including lighter tones and medium colors, making it versatile across a variety of projects. While it can be a bit tricky on very dark or textured fabrics, it works excellently on cotton, linen, and other common quilting materials. What stands out most is the precision and convenience. Definitely variable performance. The blue and red work relatively well for me. None of the black ones that I have tried have worked at all. The white is fascinating because it does not seem to work but the color appears after a minute or so, but whereas the blue and red disappear with ironing, the white often leaves a wet looking mark. Marks do come back if you put it in the freezer.

These pens are my lifeline in precision sewing. Price is right. They are easy to use. The marks disappear completely with heat. The color selection is good for any fabric. The pen is sturdy enough, though the screw cap can be fussy when refilling. I give this 4.8 stars. The biggest mistake people make with these pens is not giving them a minute to dry. You get a slight line when wet, but a bold line when dry.

I was curious how these would do, but was pleasantly surprised! They wrote well and the lines are thin enough that it would be covered my embroidery in most cases. The white even worked surprisingly well. It seemed dull at first, but dried brighter. The iron removed the marked immediately, although the white didn’t remove completely. However if using the white on a black or very dark color, you wouldn’t be able to notice the residual marks (I tested on a saturated bright blue).
