I'm glad I purchased this over the ones in Harbor Freight. This is a really nice tarp that is well made and is super bright white. It looks great, it doesn't look cheap. The edges are well hemmed. Through several storms we haven't had any rips or tears, and the eyelets are holding up 100% so far. Nice product! UPDATE: This lasted through the winter just fine, and after yesterday's nasty 30-40MPH wind gusts this tarp is holding up great, no tears and the eyelets haven't ripped at all. This tarp is of superior quality, and actually WORTH the price we paid for it. We have two tarps strung up over our chicken coop, and we have to replace them each year because the wind shreds them over time. This tarp is going to last, I can tell. It has plenty of grommet holes that share the burden of the tension. The seams and corners are really sealed up well, and it appears to be very strong and watertight. Intended to use this tarp hauling off fallen leaves to my compost pile; after just about 4 hours of use, the seam started to separate and come apart. For reference, my last tarp I used for this purpose lasted 3 years -- this one didn't make it half of one day. I patched it up with Gorilla Tape; maybe I can get 2 or 3 more hours of use out of it before it goes in the trash. material feels pretty thick and heavy. it is definitely less than 8'X'. that's why I bought one bigger than I needed. this tarp was made by adding and seaming together an additional piece of material to come up w/ the total length. it is noticeable because of the white color. it would probably not be visible on other colors. the fact that 2 pieces were used will not affect the durability as it is well put together., the 4 corners are reinforced well. mine will cover the doorway opening of my back deck, and will be hanging down, not exposed to too much wet precipitation. if properly secured, it should keep that area dry this winter. much less expensive than a canvas tarp and much lighter, obviously. ... show more

    • Worked better than expected for outdoor movie screen

We ordered this thinking it would be a cheap quick try for an outdoor movie screen. And if it didn't work we would try a more expensive option. It has a lot of creases from being folded that are going to be a challenge to get out (will try steaming). It only has one seem and it is just below the picture when you max out the width on the screen at 16:9, so you don't notice the seam at all. We originally tried front projection, but the surface is a bit shiny for that (maybe if we had turned the tarp around and put the back facing the projector it might have been better. But instead we tried rear projecting onto the tarp (as our projector allows for flipping the image for rear projection). I was surprised how well rear projection worked given that the tarp is fairly thick. But that was by far the better solution as it no longer had the shiny-ness problem doing rear projection, we just had to crank up the brightness on the projector a bit more and it worked great. Not sure how will the durability of the tarp in a wind will be but it seems pretty well made. I would recommend as a cheap and easy option for an outdoor movie screen if you have a good way to stretch it out. ... show more

The tarps are really nice. They're thick and have lots of grommets. I bought four to make a little 10'10' "room" for art/painting. I call it my "cat-free" zone. I love that I was able to get white so the light bounces off the walls and creates a nice even light. I got a zipper from the hardware store that was so easy to put in and created a door. I used PVC tubes for a frame and zip tied the tarps to the tubes. It might not hold up in an earthquake, but the tarps would be fine. :) ... show more

I've had a shade structure for years and had covered it from time to time with cheap covers. Always disappointed but other than a bit of effort to replace them, they were OK. It took a while to learn that buying a better quality cover saved getting up on a ladder so often. For just a few dollars more than the cheap covers, the difference in quality is well worth the cost. I wanted a different color too and white was not my first choice but it will be in the future. Why didn't I think of this sooner? ... show more
