Fantastic buy!!

For me, this thing is a BEAST! Made sure the gas mix was right at 25:1, attached kill switch and filled it up! A friend had a vinyl fence to install in early January in eastern NC. I share that as our frost level is pretty shallow and we don’t get “that” cold so the ground wasn’t that bad. We do not have a lot of clay, a list of sand. It is farm country so soil quality is also good. These factors likely played a roll in performance. That said, here are my pros/cons: Pros: 1. Comes with both a 6” & 8” auger about 25” overall for each. 2. Comes with 2 extensions and we used the short to get to about 31” in depth for each hole. 3. The gas mixing container comes in the kit to isolate from other gas mixes for other gas tools (I have 40:1 & 50:1 tools) and couldn’t find any premixes at the box stores. 4. Very easy start after about 10 pumps on the bubble to get fuel to the carburetor. Could have pulls and started like a champ! Did about 50 holes, 8” diameter @ 31” in depth. 5. Comes as a kit with EVERYTHING needed to get started (except gas/oil). CONS: 1. The kill switch became nonfunctional after the first 6 or so uses. Likely loose connection but I have not fixed yet. Not a game changer for me as all we needed to do was choke it and move choke lever back. For us, no biggie. 2. None. All in all, I REALLY like this auger! Once we were done with the fence, I emptied the gas tank back to the little gas can in the kit and stored it (still need to fix the kill switch). Guys that I was helping really liked it as well and could not believe how much I paid for this puppy. HIGHLY recommend!!

Excellent durable machine

Outstanding product, very impressed with the durability. Dug over 90 large post holes with zero issues. Echo the other reviewer who said, 'those who have posted negative reviews, it is due to user error.' Yes, this machine is potentially dangerous, yes this machine is heavy! If you are not large and able-bodied, and fairly young you should not expect to be able to operate this machine, at last not with a large auger. For larger jobs ideally you would have two men operating the machine together.

Good quality but handle bent after a few uses

Everything is great, except for the handles. The right side bent from pressure after a few uses but otherwise it is a great machine.

Cheaper than renting one and more powerful than you would suspect

I have used this to drill many holes. It starts first pull and runs great. I'm not Hulk Hogan but also not Peewee Herman. If this thing grabs a root, you had better let it go or you are about to becoming the spinning part. It is surprisingly powerful. I can't believe a gas powered tool like this is so inexpensive. It probably wont last as long as a name brand one but for a single fence project or intermittent use its great. If it breaks, I'll throw it away and still be happy. I have gotten more than my money's worth out of it. Cheaper and way more convenient than renting one.

I had my doubts that this digger would work. My ground is not rocky so your result might be different. Nothing but good things to say. Either size auger bit goes 2 feet with no problem.

Didn’t expect much but was blown away by the performance. Dug through heavy clay and a couple of roots without problems. Started first time. Very impressed. Just hope it lasts

Faulty bolt in bottom shaft won't move at all ,plus choke on off is backwards not safe

This auger Posthole digger is faulty from the manufacturer, the first thing Ive noticed and it's dangerous, is the choke on off sticker is opposite the on position would never start and I check in the off position and it starts right up, so that means your closing the choke when it's supposed to be on and wide open after it warms up so the sticker is wrong, the second thing is the bolts as seen on the bottom one bolt is halfway screwed out and it will not tighten back in it came brand new in the package like that , it's not safe for a bolt that's supposed to be screwed all the way in like the other bolts, that's the bottom shaft it shouldn't be like that at all....
