This device for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is actually genius. Just another screen that you can apply to your windshield or dash to navigate where you're going, without having to look down at your phone. For starters, I got the device because I was taking some friends home, and I forgot the way to his house, so I used my phone. As I was typing his address on my phone, I casually run a red light, going 30 on a decently busy street. So I bought this device after I got home. At the time, I had a OnePlus 8 5G, which at the time of writing this review, is a 3 year old phone. Multiple times during my drive, it would just disconnect from the device itself, with the only way to get it working again, is to unplug its power source from the car. The same day as I'm writing this review, I had bought a new-to-me Pixel 6 Pro, which keep in mind, is only 2 years old (at the time of writing this review). Once I got it fully setup to where all my apps are there, I went on a 40 minute drive around my city, just wondering if while I'm driving, if it'll disconnect. Conclusion on the drive: There was 1 audio hiccup that it had, but corrected itself basically immediately. There were no disconnections at all on the drive that I had, which was fantastic. Nothing is scary than driving on the highway, with your audio disconnecting and you having to unplug it and plug it back in. Another minor limitation is sometimes the mic on the device will struggle to pick up your voice with the AC on. It might just be how I have it setup. Overall, depending on how new your phone is, you will experience disconnections, as I have had with my OnePlus, with no apparent reason as to why it disconnects. For $100 and easy to setup process, I am no longer disappointed.

I bought this for my 16 yr old daughter who received nana's 25 yr old Camry. It works great! Great price, easy to connect and brings the car a bit up to date to allow her to play music, use maps, etc.

So as far as the device displaying Android Auto wirelessly, it worked fine. I didn't try CarPlay. The speaker was loud enough I thought, but I didn't catch in the description that audio output is only through aux and FM transmitter. These things usually transmit audio with bluetooth so that car audio system can be used w/o aux cable, but not this one. It does not use standard USB port for the power, so I will have to use the power adapter that it came with which is big and bulky with long wires. I was hoping I would be able to just mount this to my phone mount arm, but the ball is located at the device side (not on the arm side), so that I could not attach this to my phone mount arm. I've only tested for maybe 30 minutes and I noticed that the back of this device is already really hot. If you plan to use it the way it comes and you don't mind not transmitting audio through bluetooth, then I think this is a pretty good device. But for me, the issues I mentioned above a re big issues that I'm going to have to return this device.

I wish I could give this item 5 stars, because it is incredible value for the money. The graphics are excellent, and the Bluetooth connects quickly to the Android Auto on my phone as soon as I get in the car. It streams my Spotify and Waze perfectly, and the interface is quite good. In fact, I liked it so much I bought a second one for a future vehicle. The problem is there is a connection issue, and I'm still not 100% sure if the problem is the unit or my phone (but pretty sure it's the unit). The unit tested perfect just playing with it in the car, but the first time I was able to use it on the road on a short trip, the Waze screen froze ("NO GPS" message on screen) after driving a few miles. Interestingly, Spotify kept streaming music. I tried rebooting the system (as well as my phone) and the same thing happened, it worked for a while and then quit. Sometimes the GPS would stop and the music continued streaming, other times I would lose everything and the screen would go black. Unfortunately, there is no quick way to reboot the system without turning it off and then back on. I was able to connect the phone via WiFi (instead of Bluetooth), and although it shows a very strong connection, the issue recurs. I don't suspect the phone because it works flawlessly on my other vehicle which has Android Auto built in. Suspecting the screen, I swapped in a new replacement (from the second unit I bought). Same issue though, so it may be a software glitch and not fixable as the company does not seem to offer any tech support. In the end, it seems there must be an internal hardware or software glitch that causes the connection to drop out, after going over a bump or perhaps a voltage fluctuation, but it makes this otherwise brilliant item rather useless to me as a travel companion. I am leaving one star on the table in case I got two lemons, and I will return to upgrade my review if I am wrong. But I have a feeling this is precisely why this unit was blown out at such a cheap price. Unfortunately, the return window has already expired for me.
