These are a really good quality set of flooring planks, but this 18-pack set is not even enough to cover a large closet, so you will need a LOT More. There is some discrepancy in the number for area coverage, but it is really 6x36 inches, and you get 18 of them. They are the nice quality click install making them super easy to install and there is a prebuilt cusion on the back. THey are very nice looking and easy to clean. I did not have to cut any of mine, but they wouldn't be hard to cut. The main drawback to these is the price; you are going to be spending over $1000 for a small-sized living room, but they are of really nice quality. 4 Stars

I wish I could give this 3.5 stars, but 3 stars is probably Fair based on the durability of this flooring On the plus side, we really like the looks of this flooring, it is comfortable to walk on, and is a big improvement over the cracking ceramic tile we had in our kitchen. My intent was for this to be a relatively short-term fix for our kitchen, since we will need to do a major remodel to demo the tiles that were there. So, I leveled the existing floor and installed this on top of the tiles. Because of that, I wasn't looking for the highest quality flooring since I knew it wouldn't be perfect. A few of the planks had damage already out of the box, like a large dent and some scratches. Not a huge deal since there were areas where I just needed a section of a plank and was able to make use of those. However, when we pushed the refrigerator back onto the new planks we found horrible scratching and deep gouges, apparently just from the wheels of the refrigerator. I had to remove an entire section of the newly laid planks and replace it, and then be extremely careful moving anything on top of these planks. The first time our dog walked on it and started to slip, we had nail scratches in the just replaced planks, which was very disappointing. Sadly, these planks seem very susceptible to scratching. I didn't notice that when we received the first box for review, but after ordering four more to finish the kitchen, it became apparent that it would have been better to spend a bit more and get a more durable tile considering the two+ days it took to install these. For with these cost per square foot, I believe we could have gotten a better value for the money at one of the large floor and tile stores. On the plus side, the color is great and really works well with our blue cabinets. The tile cutter I bought didn't do a great job cutting these, and really only worked when I needed to nip off and end that was going to be hidden. That could be the quality of the tile cutter. For most of the floor, I used my chop saw or table saw for cutting. In general, they were relatively easy to cut that way but made a big mess. As with any tongue and groove plank flooring, a good flooring installation kit with spacers and pull bar is pretty much mandatory. Generally speaking, installation was about as expected, not horrible, not super easy.

This vinyl plank flooring is different from other vinyl plank flooring we have used previously. These planks lock into each other, do not have an adhesive backing, and are quite a bit wider than planking we have used in the past. Because these planks are 'free floating' without adhesive, they can be used on top of foam sheets for added cushioning. However, it seems these planks already have some form of cushioning built in to help absorb shock; so falling down or dropping a cantaloupe onto a floor of these planks will not be as impactfully 'hard' as a typical hardwood floor. Not only do they feel softer on the feet than hardwood or most vinyl, these planks also absorb sound better so make for a quieter home. Because the flooring is not glued down, it is reusable and removable. To keep the floor from shifting, simply cut pieces to fit tight from side to side, or secure the flooring by using baseboards or quarter-round on the perimeter. Although most vinyl planking is easy to cut by scoring and bending, I feel this planking is more substantial, so I chose to cut it with my mitre saw although some users say they can be cut with simply a utility knife. Above the foam cushioning layer is the printed 'wood grain' layer, and on top of that is the tough clear vinyl layer. The vinyl layer has faux raised grain for added texture and traction, and to make the planks look more realistic. Although the faux vinyl grain does not conform to the printed wood grain patterns and knotting on the layer underneath, this small detail is very common in vinyl planking and is not readily noticeable. So far, our dogs have not left any lasting marks in the new vinyl planks floors, although they suggest there could be slightly better traction when chasing each other through the house. The humans disagree.

These arrived very quickly and we started assembling the pieces right away. The planks are lightweight and easy to maneuver. The color is natural looking and it looks like wood - but feels less fragile and more resistant to scratches and spills. I’m very happy with the look and feel of this flooring. I only bought one set because we’re using it, almost like a vinyl rug, to cover our floor while dealing with a senior pet who is having accidents. We haven’t tested the seams yet to determine if they prevent leaks, but it is easy to clean - and that is one of our main concerns. Easy to assemble and looks great. If we were trying to cover the entire floor, we’d need to cut pieces and that would require some skill. But with a saw or utility knife these would not be difficult to cut through. One set it a bit small for our room, but generally it is an economical and attractive solution to our problem.

They click together easily, cut smoothly without splintering or cracking, and feel very quiet and comfortable underfoot.
