This was doing great but it's now month 4 and I've gone through half of them. I'm not sure if my chickens don't like it because it's a new material but they've torn the rugs up. Half of the new ones I put have bald spots from my chickens. I guess I need something a bit more sturdier?

I really wanted a thick fake grass for a nesting pad. I thought it would be more comfortable for my hens, and also protect the eggs from easily breaking. The summary description by the seller, says they are over an inch deep, but the ones sent me are barely 1/2" deep. The grass is rather sparse and I am very disappointed. The grass seems well attached to the base, and I think they will clean easily by spraying them with water, but I am surprised they were dishonest about the height of the grass.

The hens are laying eggs in the mats so I guess they work well. They are easy to pull out and shake off any "Not Eggs" that get on them. They do seem to get compressed down as my hens like to circle like dogs before they lay... Beautiful birds but not super bright. Still, a little fluffing up and they are good to go again.
