So I have 9 chicks so I got the bigger one so they can be a bit more comfortable. They are aboutttt a month old and realistically only 3 or 4 can sit without feeling squished. And it isn’t really easy to clean either cause they WILL poop on it and it WILL stain over time. But it gets the job done and they do enjoy sitting on there or taking a nap under it. ... show more

So they will only be able to get a little use out of it before I have to make and replace the side piece. Assembly left something to be desired. Supposed to come prefabricated for easy assembly; however, not all holes were drilled and some that were were not drilled deeply enough for the screws to be recessed as displayed. Thankfully had the power tools to complete the job or it would have been impossible with the provided allen key. ... show more

My 2 week old chicks love their new perch. Rated 4 stars because you have to tighten it pretty hard to get dowels flush with the stands and one stand cracked before tightening it so some of the screw is still visible. It's still sturdy though and not enough to hurt them.
