I really enjoy trying out the various lights in different conditions, for different purposes. For example, the purple light makes somewhat florescent or brightened objects glow and stand out very strongly. For example a yellow highlighter pen, germs, or many bright white products like office copy paper. I'm experimenting to see which lights to carry for back-up or emergencies when camping or night hiking. Then I'll buy a better and far more expensive Photon Freedom light in those colors. The Photons are extremely waterproof and their brightness/battery longevity is adjustable. I've already determined that red and yellow are the best to buy for my purposes of preserving night vision, and not waking myself up during night time tasks. Red for close-up or simple tasks, and yellow for walking at night. (I already have a white Photon Freedom) Runtime is far longer in the red and yellow lights. The beam quality of the white LED light is good enough to use as an adequate back-up to my Photon Freedom light. I would pack a cr2032 battery for it, if I need 2-3 times the duration of usable light, vs. the very brightly burning 2 CR2016 batteries supplied. The build quality and reliability are really good, especially at this "more than fair" price. Most of the lights have lens artifacts, such as a ring or splotches of brighter illumination. This is understandable because at these prices the company can't select expensive "specially binned" LEDs from suppliers. The white and purple LEDs, by the way, have the most even beams, at least in the set I received. I've read on an expert forum, that one can use fine steel wool to rub or buff the LED lenses. After doing this awhile, it will make the light beam much more uniform. I haven't tried this yet, but such inexpensive lights are ideal for experimenting with modifications.

See the pictures showing how the keychain lights are packaged and how they are arranged in the package. These are super useful for looking for things, map reading, etc, in the dark as the red light won't cause someone's eyes to have to readjust in the dark. The red body makes these easy to spot if one was accidentally dropped or left somewhere while in low lighting conditions. If you are reading this and are familiar with these types of lights, then the following part of this review isn't for you, but if you haven't used a light like this before, continue reading. There are two ways to operate these lights. One way is by pressing on the body of the light, which is a pressure switch which the light will stay on as long as that button is pressed and held, so that is a momentary on. The second way is by sliding the little slide button that is near the bulb to the rear, and in doing so, the light will stay on until the slide button is pushed in the opposite direction. See pictures showing both modes. In conclusion these lights are perfect to add to a kit as a source of light while not as bright as white light but bright enough to find some things in low light or the dark without disrupting the eyes natural ability to adapt to low light.

Nice little lights for a keychain or to stash around the car and house. I got these as giveaways in case we have another long power outage. They're simple to use, but inexpensive enough to not only give away, but not bother with replacing the battery if they run out. Red makes a nice color for "emergency", and that keeps most folks from using these for anything else. For what I got them for, they're a good deal.

This mini flashlight is an absolute lifesaver! It's incredibly compact and fits perfectly in my pocket, but the brightness of the red light is surprisingly powerful for such a small size. I love how easy it is to use with just one button, and the battery life has been great so far. Perfect for quick checks around the house or when you need a little extra light on the go. And I also love that there is more than one in the package. This way I have one in the car, on the back porch, or even in my bedroom. Great value for this!
