Awesome price for a set of 2! Got for my son's nighttime outdoor excursions, which he does nightly. Every time I've gotten him others they've been rechargeable. eventually I realized I needed to get battery operated ones instead. He could never remember to keep them charged! The last one had the silicone flap that covered the charging port come off, and I guess moisture got in and it stopped working. So, I found these instead. It is easy to replace the batteries in these. They are quite bright! The zoom in and out function works nicely, and is simple for a child. Haven't had any issues with water damaging them. They're durable (my son isn't easy on things and these are still in great condition). I'm very happy I chose these! And so is my son! ... show more

Good flashlights. My only issue is the amount of batteries it takes, four batteries are a bit much for me. However, I use the flashlights for work and they work great. Its a pack of four lights so you can always switch them out for another.

First off I want to state this is a review by a flashlight modder. Second is why can't people read and use some common sense! Not being mean, but to expect batteries in a flashlight is unrealistic and the type of battery required is clearly stated in the description. Now on to the review. I have now bought four of these lights. They are C8 style but have some major differences. They have glass lenses, I didn't notice an AR coating but the glass is a good quality. The reflector is a good smooth coating on plastic. None of my lights had a blemish of any kind. The exterior coating in black and is uniform and the light comes with a typical lanyard. The led is a good quality GK and is some of the best I have seen from this manufacturer. Nice pure white on a XM die. I have kept one of the lights with a stock LED because I like the tint so much. The others I have changed to Nachi 219c, Samsung 351D and have a Cree XP HI V2 on order from Mountain. The lanyard loop is wide enough to slip over the barrel but small enough to be held in place once the tail cap is secured. This allows you to move the lanyard from the tail cap tO the barrel which then allows for perfect tail standing. Only perform these mods if you have experience and training. For minor mods you can bypass the resistors to double the output. I also recommend the pencil mod to the memory capacitor to remove the annoying next mode on power up feature. PWM was measured at 132 hz on medium mode. Output is around 500lm while drawing 2A after these mods and the LED performs best if driven at 2A or less. Now the bad news. The driver is 17 mm and is press fit into the aluminum pill and will have to be ground out. This will be necessary to upgrade the driver. The driver is a simple design and unregulated. There is also not much depth in the pill so I have ordered a 17FET with guppydrv R2 for my thrower mod. For assembly. The pill screws into the reflector housing and then the battery barrel can be screwed into the pill. Not a perfect host but at less than $7 a piece a good trade off. The tail cap is good quality, I have only tested to 3A. Gaskets are a silicone type and seal well. I wish the reflector was aluminum but I don't think I will melt it If I keep power below 4A.
