I am a hobbyist cobbler and these are good for a thin half sole. The adhesive is convenient too, I usually end up using Barge otherwise. I actually attached the square first, then trimmed around the shoe with scissors. I carefully hand refined the edges around the sole with a Dremel. Before and after pic attached, as well as a side view pic. Pro tip: after attaching and trimming, put the shoe on a cushion or pillow and stack a bunch of books on top, pressing down, so that the sole is uniformly being pressed into the cushion. Leave overnight. This allows any glue or adhesive to set the entire sole correctly. I hope this adhesive stays on. If it doesn’t I will come back and lower the rating. Happy cobbling! P.S. These are not big enough to cover my husband's dress shoes, he is a size 9/10--not long enough. Just for women's shoes/heels, looks like.

It works only if it’s perfectly aligned with the sole. Any little part that peeks out or is cut weird can get dirt or a small object and it will all come off. The glue is not super sturdy even on smooth soles.

My daughter will only wear blowfish sneakers because of sensory issues. Her new ones came with slippery soles. The soles feel like a composite of plastic and felt and have no traction at all. These have a self adhesion back that stuck to the bottom of these shoes really well. I don’t know how long they will last until they need to be replaced but they are on pretty solid.

The reason for one star dropped is when tracing, the peel backing is slick like wax paper. The boot keeps sliding around while trying to trace. Plus the pen doesn't like to draw on the slick surface. For the positive, it seems to be sticking very well to the boot sole. I am a little worried about the tip though. I may try cutting the tip section off and redo it. The edge happened to line up over the threads, nothing to stick to.

I had a really high quality pair of leather high heal shoes that finally after 35 years the sole was beginning to crack. I don’t want to give them up yet 🤪. I spread a thin layer of shoe glue to the sole and let it dry. Then I applied this sole protector and it seems to have done the trick. Time will tell.
