Waste of money. Slush is so thick it won’t dispense. Contents come out as it melts, so only chilled liquid. Also extremely difficult to clean. Control panel fell off after first use. I’d give it zero stars if that were an option.

This is a 64oz (half gallon, just under 2 liters) slushie machine. It's very small compared to commercial machines, and is the smallest size for real slushie machines you can get now. Many consumer slushie machines will handle a full gallon, and don't cost a lot more than this. This is a real slushie machine, with a built in refrigeration system. You don't need to add ice, cool or freeze some sort of container, or anything else - plug it in, add the mix, and turn it on. It holds between 28oz and 64oz - about 3 cups to 8 cups. So if everyone takes one of those little ikea kids cups worth of slushie, it'll fill 8 of them. It will nearly fill 4 red solo cups (16oz, pint). We've tried 2 different slushie mixes, and our go-to lemonade, and all three work well. Lemonade is simply 1 cup of lemon juice, one cup of sugar and 1-2 cups water in a pan heated until the sugar dissolves. Then add water to make a half gallon and put it in this machine - 45 minutes it can be served, turn the temperature down and run it a little longer and it's pretty much like the white lemonade slushies you get from theme parks. Starting with room temperature water and mix it takes over 45 minutes to turn it into a slushie. We were able to get that down to about 30 minutes with refrigerated water and slushie mix, and smaller batches do slush faster, but not by much - they don't cover the entire cylinder that performs the cooling. The touch panel is VERY SENSITIVE. When you put your cup on the tray you're likely to stop the machine or change its settings just brushing the back of your fingers against the touch panel. It's really quite annoying - I'd have preferred tactile buttons that require some force to push, but it's not too bad because it's used up so quickly that it doesn't much matter if the machine is turned off or if the settings change. It's not an LCD screen, just a touch sensitive printed plastic panel with lights behind it. I cannot tell a difference between the different settings, other than it sets the temperature. It doesn't appear to alter the speed at which it churns the liquid. I'd have expected, for instance, a milkshake to go faster to try and entrain more air, but that doesn't appear to be the case. The on/off refrigeration cycle seems to be automated by temperature, and so far we've mostly been able to leave it running for an hour or two and it's fine, but it did freeze up once, and appears to have turned itself off at that point. It didn't freeze solid - taking it apart revealed that the slush could be spooned out or otherwise loosened, which suggests it has either a sensitive freeze detector, or a pretty weak motor. Disassembly, assembly, and cleanup are easy and quick. Nothing in the documentation suggests it's dishwasher safe, or shouldn't be washed in the dishwasher, but at this price and with no obvious replacement parts easily available we are only washing it by hand. The plastic appears to be touch, but I'm worried it's brittle. At nearly $300 this is expensive for the capacity, so shop around - there are many machines with this capacity at lower price points. If the touch panel weren't so obnoxiously sensitive I'd recommend it wholeheartedly, but as it is I suggest shopping around first.
