I gave it 5 stars because the quality of the blowout was actually so good. This is coming from someone who has naturally frizzy sort of wavy sort of curly hair, that just ends up poofy when I blow dry without a round brush. I’ve used my roommates Dyson and truly, given the quality for the cost I’m so glad I didn’t spend the money on the Dyson. Full disclosure, this is after my first use testing all of the pieces, so I can’t speak for durability but as far as the parts and what you’re looking to purchase for here are my thoughts. Smoothing brush - actually smooths and dries hair fairly quickly. Does not give volume but good for the bulk of the hair to initially dry. Small bristle round brush - good for giving that blowout look , adds volume while still smoothing. Would use after hair has been mostly dried. Large round brush - this is primarily what I bought this item for but I’m underwhelmed by it. Left these sections looking frizzy and doesn’t give the kind of volume I usually get with my round brush. Ring attachment - honestly not sure how to use this. Curling attachments - I only used the larger one but once I figured out how to actually use it it left me with big bouncy waves. I do feel like if you’re not careful, or if you have really long hair your hair could get tangled, but I don’t see how it would be any different than any other blow dryer with the same attachments. I was excited to try all of the different dryer tops. I am usually not a fan of blow dryers, I typically let me hair air dry and then heat style it. My daughters convinced me to try. I first went from towel dried and used one of the brushes to dry my hair. I have waves in my hair, and you can see by the pics with my face covered that it left the waves and kinda frizzed my hair. I just had to hot straighten my hair with an old favorite tool of mine - the Tymo. Strike one. The next time I washed my hair I used the curling wand. As you can see in pic #2, it gave some wave to my hair. Since then, I had used the curling wands for little curls and big bouncy waves. I'm getting the hang of it. Instead of taking off the left or right wand, I just choose to hold it upside down on one side and upright on the other side. It saves time. One thing I don't like about this is that the power and heat options are on the bottom of the wand which means it's always a 2 hand job to turn it off and on. It's a bit tedious and time consuming. Overall, the price is good for the blowing speed and heat. There isn't much difference in the temperature and definitely no difference in air speed. This product lacks videos and instructions. With them, I could have learned to master each top with my hair. That could have earned it the last star, but alas, I am left to continue to experiment. ... show more

First of all, I am a B when it comes to styling hair – not great but not awful. I was hesitant to try this product, but I am so glad I did! I had my hair up in a claw clip all morning. When I came home, I used the straight paddle brush to straighten and smooth the wonky bumps from the clip. It looked great! I then tried using the curling wands, and they worked great as well. I just received my ionic styler and it says it has 3 speed settings.. High, Med and Low and it only runs on HIGH... I've turned the nob to try and adjust the setting and it only turns on and off on while on HIGH setting. Will be returning this ASAP.

This is one thermal hair brush which has it all, it is an all in one! It takes only minutes to go from simply towel-drying my hair to having gorgeous, silky and relatively frizz-free hair, here too. It takes very little time to dry my hair, my hair feels very soft, shiny, and non-frizzy with a lot of body. I also like that it has a cool shot button for shooting my style. By using various brush programs, it is easy to get a straight or curly hair look. This hair dryer brush came in handy and would actually help me do my hair in the morning very fast. I have really enjoyed this tool. It has made my hair so smooth after using it. I love the extra pieces so I can do different hairstyles as well. Worth the price if you can’t afford the expensive one.

    • FANTASTIC!!
I have super long, wavy/curly and thick hair. I greatly dislike blow drying it straight. It tends to just puff up and get fuzzy. My hair stylist recommended I buy a blow dryer with a brush attachment and I was so glad for the recommendation! There are multiple attachments that come with this styling tool. I am not sure what they all do but I employed the two brush style attachments. The smaller one I used for the front and the larger brush I used for volume underneath. My hair had lots of volume but wasn't fuzzy on the ends. It dried super fast from on damp hair. The attachments are easy to attach and remove when you get the hang of the unlock/lock button. The hardest part is the actual twist know to turn on the dryer. It takes some major wrist strength to get it to move. I prefer the medium heat seating but the low and hot do the trick as well.
