I have always been fascinated by air fryers ... how could anything as perfect as french fries or batter coated chicken strips get any better? Certainly these are not healthy foods ... so I was very much looking foreard to trying a healthier version of these foods without losing the crunchy texture that frying provides, at a cost of much saturated fat. This is a pretty large unit, which would be good for a family ... maybe a bit large for a single person. It takes up a lot of counter space and needs to be spaced out from other items as the bottom is where the hot air vents out. Speaking of that, it's my biggest gripe about this machine. The hot air vents out at the bottom of the unit and gets incredibly hot. So much so that I worried it might warp my counter top. Also, you would need to keep children away from this as the bottom gets very hot. It also heats up to the right temperature in a couple minutes, without pre-heat but it can get a bit too hot and burn food, especially towards the edges. Unlike some of the toaster oven air fryers with the glass doors, you cannot see what you are cooking. The tradeoff is that this unit is MUCH easier to clean. I found that this took quite a learning curve to get going. It does not come with a recipe book, like some others do and I found the cooking times in the instructions to be off. Don't start off cooking expensive stuff as it might get ruined as you learn how to use this. I bought a bag of coconut shrimp for my first use and split the bag in half. I left it in for the recommended time and brought out shrimp which were burned and rubbery. I took several minutes off the cook time and the shrimp came out better, although still a bit rubbery. I also found a recipe for brussel sprouts which used only 4 ingredients. They came out very good ... maybe a tad dry, but crispy on the outside and the ones more towards the middle were tender on the inside. You have a lot of options as to what you can make ... and for texture eaters, this will keep the crunch. The machine seems well made with the exception of the clear, plastic handle lock. This looks and feels a bit cheaply done and if this were to break, I am not sure the unit would function as well. Other than that, this machine looks very futuristic. The gloss black coating and round edges go well with the bright blue LED lighting. It's easy to clean as you just wash the inside with a cloth when you slide the drawer out. If you plan to gift this, know that it comes in a fairly generic brown cardboard box with no graphics. It's not the most appealing packaging. The unit is a bit loud when it is running ... in a pleasant, white noise sort of way. The instructions say that a 'slight chemical odor' can be smelled and you should run the empty unit through a cycle or two in order to help this dissipate. Several cycles in, the smell is still there. If you want a big air fryer for bags of fries or chicken strips, etc. this is as good an inexpensive unit that you can buy. It is fast and convenient and will cook fried foods without as much guilt but with most of the crispness fried foods are famous for. Just make sure your countertops can handle a bit of heat. ... show more

The display panel is well lit and has, in addition to being able to manually imput the temperature and time settings, the convenient option of pre set cooking modes tailored to specific foods items. Food icons will light up on the display as you scroll by tapping the mode's soft touch button. The ability to set a precise temperature and timer helps to ensure perfectly prepared dishes. I like it so much better than the style air fryer I had been using that operated with a calibrated turning dial. This air fryer heats up relatively fast and heat seems to be well distributed. The outside of this appliance is easy to keep clean and doesn't show fingerprints. The large removable basket draw slides in and out easily, and it's coated interior makes cleanup a breeze. I also appreciate that the removable inner drip tray/rack is heavy, not a thin metal, and is nicely coated with non stick as well. This air fryer is large, but if you can afford the counter space, it's like having a second oven. With the holidays upon us, I'm excited to have this method of cooking to use in tandem with my traditional stove top and oven. Cooking for a large gathering is now easier as this air fryer can handle large portions of food, from entres' to desserts. With a turkey in my regular oven, this airfryer gives me the the ability to cook my side dishes simultaneously, not to mention in a more healthy way. It's new obviously, and if it continues to work as efficiently as it is now, I couldn't be more pleased. This is a good air fryer. The 7 quart size is perfect if feeding 3-5 people in my opinion. It's great for quick and healthier cooking. I prefer using it for fries, veggies and chicken but there are so many options. This one has 6 preset modes for convenience. It is so easy to use, that our teenager often cooks/heats his food in it. And, the basket is very easy to clean. Everyone should have an air fryer and this is a good one! ... show more

i love my new air fryer. i had once before that we finally wore out, and this one is pretty amazing. it cooks very well and is very simple to use. it is large enough to cook just about anything in, but having a house full of kids all the time, we usually do small things like pizza rolls, french fries and chicken wings.. things along those lines. but it is very useful to have around. and it is attractive to boot. ... show more
