I installed one of these locks on the new gate that I built because the other lock that I had people were having a hard time opening and closing in it. I ordered These thinking they’re probably not gonna Work, but I’ll give them a try. I installed the lock over the weekend and holy cow. It is awesome.! I can’t believe that they are so easy to use to install. Time if they hold up or if they rust or not, I have a saltwater pool and we live on the beach, so the salt air is a little rough on stuff, But fingers crossed these deal last because I really enjoy the Lorax and the saw was a breeze. Thanks so much to the solar and of course Amazon for delivering this product! I just wanted to share my experience because I feel like most of the time people leave reviews. Needed to latch a door where kids couldn’t open

Bought for a garden gate. It remains to be seen how these will perform in a salt air environment, but the hinge mechanism attaching the latch to the base is easily bent or broken. I wouldn’t consider this latch to be anything but decorative.

This latch is made from heavy gauge stainless and is very nicely finished on the edges. It is a breeze to install and works great. The only negative and it's not a big one is that the locking screw is not secured with any mechanism and so can easily fall out when the latch is being opened. This may be particularly difficult if you are installing on an outside building because the locking screw is not very large and finding it on the ground is a task. But all in all, recommended.
