I used these to put up a ten foot wooden gate. I drilled 3/8 holes for these in the gate braces and they thread so nice. I had metal poles so these fit the pins on the hardware I used for the poles and they have not sagged. Expensive but they certainly work well.

Disappointed to find that the gate post itself is NOT 5/8" as shown in product illustration, and is only .6" diameter, (.025" difference - huge gap) so a female gate hinge flops around on the end of this and would need a plastic gapper/coupler to go around post and hold secure and swing nicely... Had to return them..... ... show more
