My test just came in. I made sure to submit clean hairs, after a shower with no chemicals. And I sent them 10-15 hair strands to make sure they had enough hair roots for testing. I had forgotten about some of my allergies when I was younger and it was listed in the highest levels. So I know this test is most accurate without getting all of the needle pricks. I have had GI issues for some time and figured I really had nothing to lose. After purchasing the kit, the instructions were simple and easy to follow. I received my results rather quickly and boy was I surprised! I eat on the run alot! Apparently I was consuming too much processed foods. I wasn't happy about having to change my lifestyle, but after 3 weeks of eliminating the foods I was reacting to, the bloat and belly aches are gone! For most of my adult life I have been sick. I have been poked and prodded for years and still do not have all the answers on why I feel sick. Frustrated with lack of answers and a last ditch effort to help myself, I took this test on a friend's recommendation because why not at this point, right? Within weeks of just eliminating the level 3 food items, I felt the most “normal” I have in ages. I never realized how food/diet is so intertwined with your overall health until I took this test. Super grateful for this test as I was struggling with bloating, constipation & slight weight gain for a few months. I really didn't know what was going on since I was eating fairly healthy and working out at least 2-3 times per week. A friend who used 5Strands for their dog's intolerances suggested I try their People tests, so I thought why not!
