The package arrived as scheduled, in good condition, and packed well. Installation was simple, as the carburetor was a direct replacement for the original. Unfortunately, my generator didn’t start. An added note: prior to carburetor replacement I flushed the tank and fuel line, I added fresh fuel, a new spark plug and air filter. I contacted the seller and they quickly responded with advice and even offered a replacement. I wasn’t convinced that the carburetor was faulty. Further troubleshooting revealed a nut backed off in the valve train. I inspected, reassembled, gapped and guess what? One pull and the generator runs like new. Great product - Great price - Great customer service!

The good, the bad and the ugly: This carb runs the engine on a Storm Responder 5500 very well. Pops and surging are gone. Out of the box you can't use this carb due to the choke lever. The one that comes on the carburetor is extra long, flimsy and is not removable to be able to get it through the air filter housing. The only way you can use it is to modify the air filter housing by cutting out a hole behind where the choke handle usually sits. The correct choke handle does come with this carburetor however you can't use it because it only fits onto the carburetor with the handle facing backward towards the engine instead of toward the person using it. Also, in order to use that choke you would have to remove the choke plate and the stem going down into the carburetor. Aside from those serious issues, the OEM Governor rod does not fit in the throttle plate hole. In order to use this carburetor I had to drill out that hole to make it larger for the rod to be able to fit. That being said, this kit does come with a spare governor rod, which I did not try but it is possible that it is smaller than OEM and might fit. In summary, for the average homeowner just trying to get their generator running, this carburetor is useless. If you have the experience skill and tools available to modify both the generator and the carburetor, the carburetor does run extremely well.

I ordered a carb for an old Honda generator. The replacement carb from TANG fit exactly. I installed the new one, pulled the cord 3 times, and it fired up and ran like a new generator. I have to get new carbs for different applications and this is where I will order the from in the future.
