With this kit I can 100% disassemble my pistol and rifle, and it's pretty cheap! No catch, it seems quality. Has worked for probably 3 pistol teardowns and 2 rifle teardowns with zero issues zero complaints. Simply just good to me. Hammer is a little light, but if you hit your hand you won't be complaining it's light right? Love the case too, it holds all the punches and hammer quite securely! Size: Brass Pin Punches + Block
Hammer came with three yellow heads and one black, instead of two of each, but that's not a big deal. Otherwise, everything else looks good. The punches seem sturdy and well built, with a thin layer of oil already on them. I bought them for building rifles, and I think they're going to hold up! I wish you could buy separate plastic heads for the hammer though. Also I saw people complaining about the brass punches bending. For those that don't understand what BRASS is, it's a COPPER ALLOY, which means it's way softer than steel (nearly 10x softer on the Brinell hardness scale), so if you're trying to punch steel and hitting them roughly, of course they're going to bend. That's not a fault of build quality, that's just you overestimating the material quality of brass and using them poorly. Brass bends, brass is soft, but that's what makes brass punches perfect for not gouging steel. Saw a bunch of people complaining about this and thought I'd correct them. ... show more

You never know when you need them and I needed them. These are solid and I can knock small pins in and out, use it for peening and the carrying case is nice to see sizes at a glance. Price was right. I'm a right tools for the right job person . I've set small pins with these , finish tacks and they do what they're supposed to. ... show more

Gets a 3 because it's average. Nothing special. Nothing inherently bad with it. It's not designed for heavy duty use but it wasn't bought for heavy duty use. If you need a strong tool for heavy duty to use you need something more expensive. I do however believe that I received the package that had been returned. If it hadn't been returned it's just poor quality control. Why do I say that? When you unwrap the case or pouch that has the punches in it approximately half of the steel punches we're missing the protective wrap that comes on them. So either it was returned after somebody opened it and took the wrapping off of the punches they wanted to look at or the factory did not wrap the punches properly for shipping. I will keep them because they appear okay if I found scars or markings I would not have kept them they would have gone back. ... show more
