I never would have imagined I could buy a brand new carb on amazon for barely more than the cost of a rebuild kit but here we are. It works as well as the original and im happy with the purchase. however, it came with an "instruction sheet" which was not instructions, and was instead just variations of "aftermarket high performance carburetor" "high quality metal construction" over and over in broken English. as well as claiming it comes with a throttle cable and air filter, which it didn't. (and thats fine, it wasn't supposed to and i didn't expect it to) anyhow, i wont rate it any lower because of that since as i said its exactly what i ordered and im happy with the purchase, but the "instruction sheet" did a whole lot to undermine the confidence i had when i first opened the box. ... show more

  • Returned like-new drivability to a 52-year old car
I bought this for my 1967 Plymouth Belvedere with a 273ci LA-engine. It was a direct bolt-on and I had the swap completed in about ten minutes. This does support an automatic choke. I read other reviews about bad floats, etc., but decided to go ahead and give it a try. After a few weeks and hundreds of miles, it works beautifully. I still have the original air cleaner in place so when the hood is open at cars shows it's not possible to see this isn't the original Carter Ball & Ball carburetor. One more thing, the instructions caution that the "oil passages" should be cleaned before installation. I have no idea what that is all about. Carburetors don't have oil passages. I just bolted it on with the new base gasket which is included with the purchase. ... show more

  • Not the worst aftermarket carb in the world
right out of the box the accelerator pump was junk but after replacing that seems to work alright

  • You get what you pay for.
Bolted the new carburetor to my 1985 Dodge 318 and it ran great! Next day I went to start the truck and it wouldn't start. Took the carb apart only to discover that the float filled with gas due to imperfections in the solder joints and gaskets falling apart. I was really hoping this carb would last a while, but being cheap comes at a cost. I don't know how to get in touch with anyone to maybe get a new float or a possible refund. Save yourself some time and buy a better carb! ... show more

  • Just what I was needing something I could jut boalt on and crank the engine and it did just that.
1950 dodge with a 318 v8 worked great.

  • !! CHECK FLOATS !!
Poor craftsmanship. As someone else posted, I took time to pop the float assembly out, and sure enough, terrible soldering job. Figured I'd investigate it now at the warm kitchen table before bolting it on and filling it with gasoline, just to follow up another headache later. It's on a mid 60s 318 that's mocked into a t10 Allis Chalmers. Performed quite well out of the box. I had to richen a fuzz for those WOT moments and adjust some idling issues. Plenty of carb and displacement for shoveling dirt the lazy way. ... show more

Works well right out of the box on my 1983 318. Couple minor adjustments and it was good to go.

  • Works good
Purchased to replace a 55 year old Stromberg WW that stumbled on acceleration. Ran great out of the box with basic adjustments.
