Got this 250W heater to keep small children's blue molded pool (45 " round) from freezing. I use this pool as water source for racoons, deer, squirrels, birds and any other wildlife looking for a drink year round. Felt so bad for them during winter time so thought I would give this a try. We use it plugged into outdoor heavy duty extension cord and weigh down & clamp to side of pool so they cannot pull it out water. Racoons have a tendency to relocate things. Anyway it's working out beautifully.

I purchased three of these and put them in each of my ducks, large rubber water bowls. All the water has been defrosted so far this entire winter. We have had subzero temperatures here in Michigan and they have held up nicely. My ducks like to pick at them, but they’re indestructible. They are absolutely perfect! I highly recommend this to anybody who has barn animals.

Got this last winter and it survived my ducks water trough with -27 F and it kept on working this winter even after id left it outside all Summer. Never tripped the breaker like our old water heaters used to do so this is definitely the water heater to use and be able to rely on

Our old waterer heater, which we used to keep our outdoor fountain from freezing when we get unusually cold weather stopped working and we weren't aware of it until the fountain froze up. Fortunately, the fountain was not damaged, and we were able to keep it that way until this waterer heater arrived. It uses a about half the electricity of our old heater and keeps the water very drinkable for birds and other animals that visit the fountain.

Works very well to keep my rain barrel thawed throughout the winter. The plastic covering on the cord however has a small crack in it? Now…11/23/25… cannot plug item in any longer it just trips the GFI switch on both external outlets. I assume it has shorted out from the small crack that formed in the plastic covering on the cord. Only have used two seasons and now is useless 🤬 Stored in a dry deck box when not being used through the summer. Disappointed In this product. 11/24/25: seller is apparently sending a replacement which I very much appreciate. Hopefully I just got a bad one the first time and this second one will be durable.
