I purchased three of these and put them in each of my ducks, large rubber water bowls. All the water has been defrosted so far this entire winter. We have had subzero temperatures here in Michigan and they have held up nicely. My ducks like to pick at them, but they’re indestructible. They are absolutely perfect! I struggled to figure out how to keep a boulder fountain from freezing up in the winter. I had to replace a motor after last winter and didn’t want to do that again. I thought this might do the trick and was so pleased to see that it worked perfectly. I liked it so much that I bought a second unit and put that on the opposite side of the pump. A great find!

It seemed like it would be a great product with great reviews. Purchased it to use in our livestock water during the winter. After 24 hours being in the water I noticed what looked like rusting around the entrance of the power cord… it’s worked to keep the water warm but had to toss eventually because it started to electrocute the crap out of my hands when I grabbed it. The water didn’t electrocute me when I touched it but if you touch the black base of the heater it will.. definitely don’t feel safe using this for drinking water. Not sure if I got a faulty product but very disappointed with this and wish I could get my money back or a better product.
