  • Very happy crickets!
These lasted my 2 toads almost a month and they dont chirp at all!

  • Reliable! Will be buying again
I was very worried about my order, as it arrived 4-5 days after my purchase, and instead of being delivered to my door, it was placed in a mailbox I couldn’t get to for several hours. Then I saw just how small the box they were in was, and I was sure it would be at least half full of dead crickets. I was really surprised when I’d opened the box to, nearly, all 500 safe and sound. There was a pretty bad smell, the potato was rotten, and there were a lot of feces, but I feel that’s to be expected when there’s 500 bugs crammed into a small box for 5 days. They all seem very healthy too. Normally when I purchase crickets from a pet store, about 1/3 of the crickets end up dying after a week. But after a week of having these, it seems the only casualties have been from my lizard. ... show more

  • No heat pack, 100% dead
The media could not be loaded. The listing says heat pack included if necessary. I would say below freezing temps all over the country qualify as “needed” but none was included. They all are 100% dead. Not a single living cricket. I let them warm up in my house for a couple hours just in case they needed warmed up but no luck. Completely dead. And it’s pretty difficult to request a refund. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend ordering unless the outside temps are perfect. ... show more

  • Half of them were DOA!
I have edited this! Lately in So California, getting crickets is like going on a treasure hunt, and when you buy them, the max one can buy at our local pet store is 50 at the price of $.17 a buggo. With my little bearded dragon, it costs me about $120 a month to feed her. That’s more than I pay for dog food for my 5 dogs. With that headache in mind, I took the plunge and opted to buy in bulk. This seller offered 500 for $27.99, roughly 6 cents a bug - a great price. I bought a small tank with a screen top to house them and I hope they’ll breed so I don’t have to purchase them as often. I opened their shipping box, which was compact and had plenty of egg crate, and proceeded to dump the crickets in the tank. The first thing I noticed was that these were not medium size crickets, they were JUMBO! On the not so good side half of them were dead. I don’t know if they had a rough ride, if they cannibalized each other or what, but I mugshotted them, and gave the dead a burial. Along with these crickets came a variety of stowaways. There were little black beetle looking bugs that kind of looked like ticks, and some long black bug that looked like a little worm with legs. I wasn’t sure sure how I felt about this. This seller was one of the more expensive, and I went with them because of their great reviews. Because so many arrived dead, I’m disappointed. I emailed the seller explaining the situation and they promptly responded. They gave me a choice of a refund or replacement, and I felt that since my dragon has 250 or so to eat for now, adding another 500 might be overkill, and they might die before she can eat them. With that I chose a refund for now, and next time I need more, I will reuse this vendor. Accidents happen, and I’m very happy the sellers were so accommodating. ... show more

  • All alive
This product took about a week to arrive all crickets were alive but they were not medium crickets. They are pinhead and small crickets. This will cause me to have to deed my reptiles double to triple of what they need.

  • Absolutely love
Was my first time ordering from this company and I absolutely love them. I bought 500 live crickets. They all arrived alive and it has been 4 days and. I have not had any die yet other than the ones I used to feed my pets of course. They were also easy to transfer from their shipping box. I just ordered my next 1000 from them. ... show more

  • Unless something changes, I will buy from another seller.
I've bought many times over several years from BuyFeederCrickets and I've mostly been happy with my experience here. They sometimes show up with dead crickets, anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 dead, but the price was so low and they were always willing to partial refund so I looked the other way, especially given the number of times the orders came 100% alive and healthy. I have depended on this store to feed my reptiles and it's very important to me that they offer year round shipping so I've put up with the fluctuations in price to cover faster shipping and better packing that they used to give me (heating pads, for example). However, BFC have been steadily raising the price, and worse, the problems with dead crickets have been worse. But my breaking point came with my order today. Because moving crickets are hard to count, I usually don't count them, but my order came with 102 alive and 304 dead when it was supposed to be 500 crickets. Crickets are obviously fragile and can die in shipping so I would tend to expect a 20% overcount, but I've now proven that currently BFC ships with a 20% UNDERCOUNT. This is not acceptable to me considering the higher price and I can't support this shop if they're going to short me and also kill crickets with inadequate shipping. Now that the prices are higher, I have to seriously look at competitors who used to be double the price of BFC but are now about the same. If there's one nice thing I can say about this experience, they are now using managed returns with an automatic refund if you're unhappy, so I don't have to snap a picture of my dead crickets to get a refund anymore - but since I already took this picture, I thought all of you in the review section ought to see it before buying from this vendor. ... show more
