If you're a true fan of the franchise you'll definitely find this remake an awesome installment to the series. With the 3rd person releases being some people's first experience with Pokemon video games, I can see why they would be disappointed. The overhead chibi design is less eye candy, more nostalgic artwork. This game will not get you overly frustrated or excited, but allow for some laid back Pokemon catching (remember this game is compatible with "Home"). That being said it was developed by ILCA (developers of "Home") who were brought on to create BD/SP while Gamefreak focused sole attention on "Arceus". If you liked "Link's Awakening" and/or "Echoes of Wisdom" and a fan of that franchise, as a Pokemon fan, you will love this title. ... show more

I enjoy lee this game a lot. I never got a chance to play the original on the DS so this was a great buy.it was very long and kept me engaged every second. I haven’t played Pokemon since game boy days. This is definitely a must buy.

If you loved playing diamond/pearl when it first came out, then you’ll LOVE playing brilliant diamond and shinning pearl. I’m not a fan of the chino art style, but honestly when I actually had the game in my hands it doesn’t look that bad. Looked pretty nice seeing it in person. The game is still very fun just like I remember when I was a kid playing it. I know a lot of people have a problem with the exp share being on all the time and I do notice that I’m a bit high leveled. That doesn’t exactly bother me since I’m just playing the story right now so it’s whatever, I do wish there was an option to turn it off. The visuals look great, seeing all these old scenes remade is amazing and this whole game was a great trip down memory lane. If you liked playing the originals then this is a MUST so buy it now! Also one thing I’d like to note is that this is a diamond and pearl remake, not platinum. So don’t expect to many platinum elements. Overall I’m enjoying the game and thank you to Amazon for sending me this a day early! It really made my whole day better to come home from a long day of work to see this in my mailbox! On a last note, when you get near post game this game DOES get pretty hard out of nowhere so if you like a challenge you’ll love this part. The gym leaders and e4 get harder and have fully ev trained Pokemon the second time you fight them. As a competitive player I LOVE this addition to the game. I’m sure others will too! ... show more

The game itself is pretty good for the most part, and a faithful recreation of the Gen 4 games. The -1 star is that it was a little too faithful on one thing. The difficulty curve. The game gets pretty difficult by the end, and since every team is apparently made by competitive Pokémon players, you're not going to have a fun time by the end. I wish it was more like a recreated Platinum, since the difficulty curve there wasn't as severe, but oh well. ... show more
