Awesome unit. Powerful and very quiet. Quite a bit larger than previous unit (fully 36" square and perhaps 54" tall) Be sure you have sufficient clearance to deliver the unit to its final pad and that your pad is large enough. Goodman has really upped their game; this unit is obviously very high quality. Amazon and seller delivered quickly to home and we hired an independent certified A/C tech to install for ~$800, which saved a bundle versus a dealer-sold system. (If you have trouble finding a certified tech, Amazon Services also offers installation services in most areas, and you can also seek quotes on Yelp.) The warranty is extended from 5 to 10 years if you use a certified tech and register the unit (which only takes a moment online).     • a bad meter, and other sources
It is a throwaway unit for foolish, cheap people. I am renting a house that has one. It has failed after a few years resulting in VERY high electric bills (300% more than neighbors). It took weeks including looking for power theft, a bad meter, and other sources. Ultimately it was this junk AC. Now the landlord on the hook for several hundred dollars in excess utilities and a new AC unit. This was an incredibly foolish purchase. For the price this thing will cost them, they could have bought a good quality, efficient unit. That brings me to the efficiency. It is illegal to install ACs with less than 14 SEER now. So the question is, are you dumb enough to buy this, break the law, suffer early failure, and cost yourself more than a quality unit? ... show more
