Description

We offer specialty-grade green coffee beans providing home coffee roaster aficionados opportunity to personally roast their own coffee at home. Our fresh recent harvest premium beans have great flavor potential if roasted correctly. Coffee roasting has been mysterious in years past with only privileged few learning deep secrets associated with roasting good tasting coffee. In recent years this has changed as many are learning to roast coffee at home. Many begin with basic equipment like; pan on stove, hand-cranked popcorn popper, hot air popcorn popper, heat-gun into stone bowl, basket on grill, many ways to start. It is possible to achieve satisfactory results with basic methods, but soon most new roasters realize there is fine line of time and temperature needed throughout roasting process to fully unlock development of all the bean’s natural delicious nuances. Basically, beans need to be heated to around 400F within 10-15 minutes time, then use fan to cool to room temperature. After this is complete you can grind beans to brew your own home- roasted coffee. Secrets to know: 1-The beans need even-heating from surface to core; this requires stirring or tumbling during roasting. 2-Better taste is found with higher heat in beginning then slowly drawing down heat as roast progresses. 3-Shorter roast times 7-10 min develop higher acidity with greater complexity. 4-Longer roast times 10-15 min develop lower acidity, complexity, with higher body. 5-Fresh current-crop high-altitude-grown coffee beans have more intense flavor complexities. Developing your profile: Determine flavor qualities you want. For higher acidity and complexity create your profile to complete in 10-12 min. Develop the roast evenly surface to core. Adjust time and temp ratios to achieve your own personal taste preferences. If it tastes grassy, it is underdeveloped. If taste is sour, apply greater heat. When roasted correctly coffee should taste sweet, bright, full of delicious flavor complexities.

  • Very nice beans for a home roast.
I'm not a expert even though I have been roasting my own beans at home for about 2 years now. I started with a air popcorn popper to roast the beans and have upgraded to a simple electric plate roaster and I'm very happy with how these Jafa Dutch Estate beans roasted on the plate. The chafe came of very nicely and the flavor is very smooth with no bitterness on a medium to dark roast on the beans. I will continue to order these beans. ... show more

I received my order and had some problems with the Unroasted Sulawesi coffee beans. I`ve just tried to roast the Sulawesi coffee beans and found that the beans look weird and too solid for a coffee grinder. Maybe that Unroasted Sulawesi beans are a part of a substandard consignment? I sent the claim to the buyer. Maybe someone knows the magic way how to roast and grinder this coffee beans, please give me advice. ... show more
