We’re on a well with a lot of minerals. With a string filter or some other types, the water would leave an orange residue after sitting for a few days like in the toilet or shower. These filters seem to have completely removed that which makes things way easier to clean. The only downsize is the flow is slightly less than I expected, but still very usable and within what I would call a normal pressure. (I usually like very high pressure)

This did a great job removing odor and iron 'flavor' from well water. While not perfect, it made water totally drinkable and no rusty stains develop after standing for a short time. I am using this filter as the 3rd unit in a system that has a sediment spin-down filter, a 'General Purpose' 10 micron 10"x4.5" filter, and then this. I have noticed no reduction in water pressure to my house. This system is installed about 75' from the home, mounted in my well house. Overall I am very satisfied with the result. Pic of the system before I added a second Culligan housing for this filter.

I normally only did string filters in my whole home filter and decided to use these instead and with in a day after running water through the house, we could tell it tasted and smelled better (we are on a private well with high end softener) So we no longer need to keep feeding the refrigerator filters and just take it from the faucet.... any faucet now.

I understand that these say not to use with well water, but I had to try anyhow. I have a salt brine/ion exchange water softener system due to really high iron in the water. I punished this filter by putting it before the softener and bypassing the unit. After running the water for 10-15 minutes, there was no smell, taste, or color to the water. I was hoping to also remove any unwanted toxic chemicals that could be in my water supply, which is what a carbon filter is good at, since Weyco does not care what gets leached into the ground water. I will have to see how long it will last when installed after the softener system. So far these really do work as stated.
