These were the perfect size for my chocolate baskets. I just covered the outside with aluminum foil and chilled them. Then I drizzled melted chocolate on them and chilled till chocolate was set and hard. I slipped the foil off the dome and then gently peeled the foil off. Perfect! I googled the Wilton car pan for instructions on baking, but they weren’t super helpful as it pertains to how much batter the pan holds. I way overfilled my pan. I’d suggest maybe 9 cups of batter. The thickness of the cake means it will take *forever* to bake, and I did feel like the sides got a bit overbaked as a result (maybe when I use the right amount of batter it’ll work out better). I used shortening/flour as a release which worked great. Overall I was content with the result since it was just for my three-year-old but I’d be hesitant to use this shape for a customer without further experimentation. ... show more

No instructions included but Wilton.com has printable instructions for this cake. I had this same pan several years ago with instructions. This new one seems lighter weight and will bend or dent easily as though it is a knock off of the original one from Wilton. Same shape and size, but not as sturdy. It does make a great 3D train cake.
