I had to break out the ruler to prove to her that it was only 4 inches. It did not expand to six inches - as advertised. It is so thin that we can feel the box springs underneath. We left it out for four days before putting it on the bed. It seems to be normal shape and the length and width are correct. It simply only puffed up to four inches thick. As you know, you have to put the mattress back in the original box to return it. As you probably also know, normal people like us don't have a massive compression machine. Nor do we have a machine that sucks all of the air out of a mattress and then seals it is plastic wrap. The one positive thing to come from this according to my wife: If I misbehave and get sent to sleep in the guest room, I will be tortured by this very thin pad. She had a wicked grin on her face as she said this... Life lesson: If you tell your wife to expect six inches, but you only give her four, she will not be happy. ... show more
